Hip Dislocation?

i was playing soccer and i took a huge swing at the ball and missed, immideatly i felt a huge pop in my right hip area. I immiedietly fell to the ground swearing. Right after i got up and walked to the sideline with a huge limp and my leg/hip really hurt and it was shaking. i just laid on the sideline for the rest of the game, when i stood up, it hurt just as much as it did before, and my limp was still as bad. Is this hip dislocation? What should i do about my problem.

I am a 14 year old male

(sorry about the spelling, im really rushed.)
it is a dull pain when i sit down that never stops, and a sharp pain every time i move my right leg.

It is a possible dislocation. I had something very similar happen to me just a couple months ago.I'm 15 years old. During a soccer game took a kick, felt a pop, went down, all the good stuff. Found out a couple days later that I had an avulsion fracture. They said it was a fairly common injury because of growth plates moving around and all that jazz. Definitely go see your Primary Care and they will get you some X-rays done. You may end up having to see an orthopaedist. They couldn't see my fracture on the X-ray because when they X-ray your hip they don't usually go that high up (it's really more of your pelvis).

If it is in fact an avulsion fracture then you will probably just have to stay off the leg for a while, no soccer for at least 6 weeks probably 8 to be safe. The bright side is no casts or anything like that if the bone will settle back in place. If it keeps moving out of place you may have to have surgery.

Good luck with the hip, and with the soccer  (+ info)

How to tell if you have a dislocation hip/leg?

After an car accident someone in the car got hurt. About 20 doctors have no idea whats wrong.

Symptoms include: Severe pain in hip to back thigh, foot/leg pointing outward, leg is weak/ severe constant pain (resting or walking). Short leg, one doctor concluded she has Sciatica.

Spine is clean nothing noticeable and back does not hurt.

Is it possible this person has a dislocation in her hip/leg?
(All the doctors have paying more attention to the spine and never looked at her leg.)

Sounds like a nerve entrapment, probably within the hip, due to inflammation. Best of Luck  (+ info)

How much time do I have to wait after a hip dislocation to ride my byke through the streets again?

I had a hip dislocation almost six weeks ago, and I'm still using crutches, the fact is that my only way of transport is my byke, and I like it. I can't ask my orthopedist because he lives in another state, so ... could any doctor around tell me when can I ride my byke again?
I had a 1st grade dislocation, without any minour fractures, I just want another opinion, please
----------

well it depends on the original grade of dislocation, if you canĀ“t go to your orthopedist but have your x-rays go to someone else, if not try calling your orthopedist, and ask him about rehab too  (+ info)

What is a good treatment to follow for my hip's dislocation?

I had a hip's dislocation three weeks ago, and the orthopedic's doctor who made me the hip's reduction said that I could stand with both legs (helped by crutches) after four weeks, and I'm very happy because there's only one week left, the problem is... my mom (also a doctor, but not an orthopedic's one) say that I have to spend two months without leaning the left leg (the afected one). I really think that the opinion of an orthopedic's doctor (who made the reduction hymself!) is better than the opinion of my mom, the problem is that the consequences of a bad treatment on a hip's dislocation could lead even to bone's disease, so... any doctor or medicine's student who help me?
----------

I would definetely follow the advise of the orthopedist. Generally speaking, while we do have to respect the healing process, prolonged inactivity can lead to significant muscular imbalances which may make you more prone to dislocation. Post dislocation rehab is helpful at restoring acitivation of muscles that were shut down during the injury. It will depend on the direction of dislocation and whether there was any disruption to the labrum as to what types of acitvities you should avoid. Your orthopedist is the one to ask...no offense to your mom.  (+ info)

what physical therapy do i need to do for case of hip dislocation?

my bro. has a hip dislocation case and will be out in the hospital this week. What exercise should he do for that
----------

Make sure you consult with your doctor about this. Sometimes they may put him in a brace and let the hip joint scar in, making it tighter. If you do much PT initially you may not give it a chance to tighten and may actually stretch it out making it possible to dislocate again. If it is a result of a hip replacement, revision surgery is sometimes needed.  (+ info)

Can I sue my daughter's doctor for not telling us that she had a hip dislocation? She is 9 now?

Now she has to wear a shoe lift on her shoe and she might need another surgery.
This dr. said that she noticed something on her last visit but she did not say anything because she told it was nothing. When the dr. office called and told me that her hip was dislocated they sent me to an Orthopedic doctor the very next day. That dr. asked how come I did not bring her in sooner. I ttold him I just found out the day before. Now my daughter has to live with this the rest of her life.

That's pretty low. It's because of people like you that medical personnel withhold proper care due to the fear of litigation. Sue if you want, but it won't take your daughter's pain away.  (+ info)

What are some risks associated with hip dislocation?

Someone with a hip dislocation is more likely to dislocate their hip again. Also, there is a chance that while the hip is dislocated, it can put pressure on a nerve and cause severe pain or numbness.  (+ info)

joint pain in hip. Feeling like dislocation is about to happen when I move certain ways?

I can remember these pains starting from my early teens.
I don't think it's due to my use of the joints because the problem is the same as my activity level changes.

Every now and then, (especially when i'm sitting on the floor or a bed) when I move my leg I feel like my joint is about to pop out (pain is usually on the inside of hip)
There is a sudden pain and it's very intense (i usually shout out loud and stop moving)
I'm wondering if it's the normal feeling that people get just before a joint cracks? When I get those feelings in my fingers I can't stand it and won't let the joint crack because I find it painful (and gross)

This is pretty different but I wonder if i'm over-reacting to this hip joint pain or if there is some condition which would make the bones slide out of place? I'm also wondering if I continued moving would something bad happen? It feels incredibly sore, I don't think I could continue moving when it happened. It really does feel like it's about to disloc
----------

It sure ain't supposed to feel like that! Visit the orthopedic guy. He will probably be able to advise you with no more than a simple x-ray.  (+ info)
