Hand Tremor: is it from lifting weight after i am exhausted from running or is it from drinking a lot of juice?

I am currently 15 almost 16 and i do cross country which i run a lot and after, i am exhausted but i still workout with weights and it happened about a month ago where i started realizing that my hands shake a bit when i stick out my arm and i am not trying which i think its called hand tremors and i really need to know if its serious or its from lifting weights. I hope you can tell me what i can do to make it go away or reduce the tremor by a lot.

It may very well be from some cause you didn't mention. I F you regularly or frequently consume any food or drink or gum that contains Aspartame, phenylalenine, nutrasweet, sorbitol, or the same (or its chemical relatives) by any other name, that could definately be the cause of it.  (+ info)

how to help my friend overcome his persistence physiological tremor yet he's only 21 years old?

my friend has this physiological tremor condition. he's suffering this condition since he's little. his condition getting worse when he need to talk with someone he never talk to, during presentations or in any situations that make him really nervous and anxious. his hands tremble when he's talking to me, feeling like everyone stared on him. is there any treatment or therapy for this kind of condition?
----------

I doubt theres anything wrong with him, he's just sensitive about how people perceive him. Suggest to him about getting a job maybe, like a cashier job, where he's interacting with A LOT of people, but nothing personal. Retail is great for that, just practicing your ability to just talk without any pressures of ever seeing that person again.  (+ info)

does anyone out their have a condition called a benign tremor? Does it get eventually worse.?

My son is 18 and has started shaking up into his arms , it had first started in his hands.
----------

I was diagnosed with tremors several years ago (I'm 42) cuz my hands shake. My dad and uncle both have it so it's genetic. I take Inderal LA (long-acting) and it somewhat subsides the shaking but not so much. Consuming alcohol is also supposed to help subside it (not that your son should become a boozer). It's something the doctors said will never go away but can be controlled. Unfortunately your son will go through people always asking him why his hands are shaking.  (+ info)

What causes hands to tremor other then the cold and how serious is it? 10 points!!!?

I'm 16 I drank a small cup of coffee with a little sugar about 2 hours ago but thats it and I hope it's not parkinsons it may be anxiety but I don't know what cayses that!
Causes it is supposed to say causes.
----------

high or low blood sugar
anemia
anxiety
pinched nerves in your neck, upper back
lack of sleep, fatigue
carpel tunnel syndrome
dehydration (at least in me)
too much sugary food, caffeine
some decongestants, cold medicines

try going on Web MD - they have a symptom checker that will ask you specfic questions and help you narrow down your options and tell you if it's serious or not.

is tremor of the vocal cords a definitive diagnose of Parkinson?

I was hoarse mainly on the phone. I went to an ENT and he diagnosed Parkinson or the medication I am taking. I am bipolar and for anxiety I am on Clonazepam. I take 1 mg. of Cloneazepam. I have been on the medication for more than 5 years. The hoarseness is for three months.
----------

Rather than Parkinson's disease, vocal cord tremor is sometimes a symptom of Essential Tremor or more specifically Essential Voice Tremor.

Well, it can take time for some side effects to appear but I don't think you should dismiss this as a side effect until you have explored other possibilities.

Mainly on the phone. Hmmm. Could there be some tension associated with talking on the phone. Does the ringing of the phone itself upset you? You are the best judge of the association of the phone to hoarseness.

Also, since you do not say where you live, could the hoarseness be an allergic symptom? Post nasal drip as an allergy symptom? Just a thought.

An ENT cannot and should not be making a diagnosis of PD. Did the ENT refer you to a neurologist specializing in motion disorders? Did he suggest that you see a neuro? You should call his office to request a referral,l but if he didn't make it at the time, I question his dx and/or professional judgment from the get-go. (I don't usually make statements like that but it sounds as if he hung you out to dry.)

While hoarseness can be a manifestation of a neurodegenerative condition (and PD is certainly one), sometimes it isn't. The thing is that if this is a neurodegenerative condition, you should begin the right treatment ASAP but you can't do it without a diagnosis.  (+ info)

What is fine motor tremor a sign of?

I am only 30 years old , and I have had a pain condition for the past 8 years. Now I am having fine motor tremor when I am holding a drink or something heavy. I am going to see my neurologist who hasn't diagnosed me. I am just worried so that is why I am writing.

It is probably Multiple Sclerosis. An MRI of the brain without and with contrast enhancement can tell you for sure. (The FLAIR sequence is the one to best diagnose MS. It sounds like: tick-tick-tick-tick, bah-dah-bah-dah-dah...)

There is a drug from Elan Pharmaceuticals that is used to specifically to treat MS called Tysabri. You should ask your doctor about it. He will have to monitor your blood enzyme levels but that is easy enough.

Best of luck to you!  (+ info)

I noticed a 'tremor' of my mom's head & upper lip when she is not speaking or eating. What could this be?

Whenever we have a conversation and she is listening to me, her entire head rhythmically tremors and her upper lip kind of twitches upward and to one side at the same time...she has NO IDEA she is doing it.. it is becoming more noticeable (it was just her head for about a year, now her lip ) I am concerned could this be a precursor to PD?

some people have movement disorders, either of the nervous system or muscle. she should be evaluated, not necessarily Parkinson's  (+ info)

Try finding a handwriting that you like and try to do each letter slowly first to get the shape you want. then start doing it faster and faster. It just takes practice like everything else. I'm a type designer and have to change my handwriting for certain documents and designing handwritten type fonts occasionally.  (+ info)

Has anyone ever heard of benign essential tremor?

What is it?What causes it?Who is affected by it?and are there any alternative medical cures for it? And if so what exactly is the alternate.
----------

A benign essential tremor is the involuntary movement of a part or parts of the body. It is the most common type of tremor and movement disorder. These tremors are uncontrollable, rhythmic, up-and-down movements that are painless.

The cause is unknown but is inherited. Who is affected? Those who were born to parents who have the disorder.

There is no "cure" either medical or alternative. Treatment does not consist of medical intervention unless all non-medical methods are ineffectual. Treatment consists of:
avoiding caffeine
avoiding stress
staying well rested
avoiding stimulants
avoiding extreme in temperatures (weather)

If these strategies don't work, then medications may be prescribed. Believe it or not, alcohol is found to improve the tremors but is not recommended as a treatment for obvious reasons.

In cases where the tremors are disabling, treatment may include a contralateral thalamotomy (destroying the thalamus gland on the opposite side) or unilateral high-frequency thalamic stimulation.  (+ info)
