Does taking multiple meds at once harm your liver/system?

I'm on many different asthma meds: singulair, claritin, advair, atrovent, and sometimes albuterol.

Then I have an anti anxiety med, ativan from time to time.

I also use rogaine/propecia for hair,

and sometimes hair shampoos like nizoral/tgel.

Am I overdoing it, and will my liver get taxed with all of this eventually?

Or am I okay as long as I do it all in moderation?

I can totally skip out onn the topical shampoos, but the rest of the meds, at least the asthma meds are cruical.

I need advice.
----------

Talk to your doctor and pharmacist about all of the meds you are taking. Make sure that you fill all of the 'scrips the same place so it is all in their database, and if you have multiple doctors, make sure they know about all of the meds you take.

Do you take OTC stuff as well (aspirin, benedryl, etc)? That can also interact with other meds and mess up your liver.  (+ info)

if polio is a desease of the nervous system why then do the muscles atrophy and waste?

The nervous system controls blood flow . So, when, blood flow is restricted to certain areas of the body, those tissues will atrophy. Polio used to cause the lungs to stop movement of air in some cases. The virus attacks different areas and causes different symptoms which varied in patterns.

if polio is a disease of the nervous system why then do the muscles atrophy and waste?

Polio is a disease of the motor neurons in the spinal cord. When the motor neurons die off, the nerves they send out to the muscles also affected which in turn leads to denervation of the affected muscles. The muscles, without any connection to the motor neurons will then atrophy as well.  (+ info)

How does Multiple Sclerosis impair or impact the nervous system?

please answer in detail and tell me where you found your answer
----------

It destroys the myelin sheath on nerves.
What Is Multiple Sclerosis?

MS is thought to be an autoimmune disease that affects the central nervous system (CNS). The CNS consists of the brain, spinal cord, and the optic nerves. Surrounding and protecting the nerve fibers of the CNS is a fatty tissue called myelin, which helps nerve fibers conduct electrical impulses.

In MS, myelin is lost in multiple areas, leaving scar tissue called sclerosis. These damaged areas are also known as plaques or lesions. Sometimes the nerve fiber itself is damaged or broken.

Myelin not only protects nerve fibers, but makes their job possible. When myelin or the nerve fiber is destroyed or damaged, the ability of the nerves to conduct electrical impulses to and from the brain is disrupted, and this produces the various symptoms of MS.
