Can hynosis help with a hypersensitive sense of smell and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity in an adult?

My sense of smell has become completely hypersensitive, and now I think I've become afflicted with Multiple Chemical Sensitivity as well (where perfumes, scented things and chemicals cannot be tolerated). I also have a very hypersensitive sense of hearing. I've heard hypnosis can help with many things. Does anyone know if hypnosis can help with the problems I'm having? Any documented evidence would be awesome. Thank you all.

Any Health professionals out there know how to treat extreme MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity)?

I am seeing a doctor and I have seen specialist allergists but nobody really knows what to do about it. I'm at the extreme end of the scale and even a small amount of chemical scent gives me incapacitating symptoms. I try to escape the triggers but it's impossible in our society where so many people use so many products that contain chemical scents. Any advice would be appreciated.

If you scroll down the page here, there are lots of links. Sorry that I can't be of more help.

Anybody out there suffer from Multiple Chemical Sensitivity? If so, any advice?

I'm at the extreme end of the scale and it is ruining my life. I have an extreme sensitivity to chemical scents and they are absolutely pervasive (ie - I can't escape them anywhere, not in public, not in my workplace and not even in my home). Any advice you could give would be appreciated.

I suffered with a reaction to agricultural chemicals for four years, scented soaps and washing up liquid, detergents, anything like that made it worse . In desperation I tried traditional chinese medicine and it was gone for good in two weeks. Any questions email me.  (+ info)

Is Multiple Chemical Sensitivity real?

Some say that MCS - 'Multiple Chemical Sensitivity' is not a real medical condition. Is that so? A Yahoo search has left me unsure. What is the truth?
----------

MCS is a real medical condition!

I have been involved with MCS patients for years now and can tell you it's no joke it's something similar to Gulf war Syndrome.

MOSTLY MCS will happen when you have been exposed to toxic chemicals or after a toxic mold exposure or sick building syndrome condition.

An example of MCS would be a person who has SBS (sick building syndrome) due to toxic mold, the person will smell mold and have a break down of the immune system which can lead to headache, shock, fatigue, etc etc all because of the smell of mold, this can also be the same situation with someone who has been exposed to toxic chemicals and smells chemicals and gets the symptoms.

It is said that 30% of MCS patients can not leave there home with out falling ill due to some sort of chemical they come into contact with in the environment.

MCS is very hard to treat and there is no cure for it yet.  (+ info)

The government and mainstream medical community deny that Multiple Chemical Sensitivity is real ?

YET WHY IS IT REAL TO ALL OF US WHO TRULY SUFFER WITH IT????
----------

Because they really do not care about us! They deny and look away at much more things than chemical sensitivity. The world of smoke and mirrors.  (+ info)

Anyone familiar with a medical condition called Multiple Chemical Sensitivity? And...treatments that work?

It's easiest to compare this condition to allergies, although it isn't truly allergy, because it doesn't cause a histimine response. The symptoms are more closely related to poisoning. Nausea, disorientation, muscle weakness, achy joints, etc. These symptoms come from exposure to things we cannot avoid in our society. Perfumes are lethal to us. This includes perfumed deodorant, drier sheets, detergent, hair spray, etc. One of the worst is plug-in air fresheners. Other things affect us, but the perfumes seem to be hardest to avoid. Even masks don't help, unless you wear the kind for toxic waste, with big filters attached. Who wants to wear that to work and the grocery store, etc. It also seems that more things are perfumed now than a few years ago. It's hard to find toilet bowl cleaner, shampoo, dish soap, etc. without added perfumes.

http://www.mcsurvivors.com My mother has the condition. She is very into all that eastern and alternative medicene, so, she's slowly getting out of it, but it's very much real, despite what is said. There are certain other diseases I don't believe in, but MCS is very real, and can be devastating (and deadly).  (+ info)
