why would a question about bluetongue, foot and mouth and salmonala be removed from the vegetarian catagory?

Why would this happen I only asked it this afternoon?
my point was that people wouldnt be eating meat 100 years from now as there would be no space. fields and farms would be used for housing in this growing population.
whats wrong with that.?
These are all diseases affecting animals which people eat. the animals are being culled because of the diseases, As a veggie I think its better not to eat meat
To me its another reason not to eat meat,
The land would eventually be used for housing rather than farming.

Don't know, i saw that it was removed, shame.

I answered it and had another link for you....Argos ( a UK catalogue sales place) have had to recall furniture because of allergic reactions.

I guess the leather is also fighting back !

Its true that it doesn't belong in this section, but then neither do most of the troll questions we get and they remain.

Anyway, posting a question in the wrong section is not "against" guidelines, Putting it in the right section is regarded as "good", puttnig it in the wrong section is not regarded as "bad" according to Yahoos terms, so it shouldn't be removed just because its in the wrong section.

Of course there is nothing in the article I quoted that said the allergy was caused by a product on the leather so I guess I didn't deserve David's "lies and deceit".  (+ info)

why is bluetongue a notifiable disease?

• Bluetongue is a notifiable disease. • The owner / keeper must refrain from moving any animals or cases on or off his premises at this time. • If disease is suspected then all animals should be kept indoors where practicable. • Insecticide treatment on premises if directed by authorities.
The reason for this is obvious: if a case of a serious disease, capable of starting an epidemic, is notified to the Defra Divisional Veterinary Manager immediately at the moment it is diagnosed (or even suspected) then there is a much greater chance of preventing the epidemic.

For some notifiable diseases, there is no real risk of an epidemic, but the very occurrence of one case of the disorder can be an indication of some breakdown in hygiene.

Because
The virus is transmitted by a small number of species of biting midges of the genus Culicoides. Bluetongue virus cannot naturally be transmitted directly between animals. Virus transmission between animals occurs via the insect vector; some species of midges. However, the likelihood of mechanical transmission of the virus between herds/flocks and within a herd/flock by unhygienic practices (e.g. use of contaminated surgical equipment or hypodermic needles) cannot be excluded.  (+ info)
