Meningioma
(Meningiomas, Multiple; Meningiomatosis; Benign Meningioma; Malignant Meningioma)
A relatively common neoplasm of the central nervous system that arises from arachnoidal cells. The majority are well differentiated vascular tumors which grow slowly and have a low potential to be invasive, although malignant subtypes occur. Meningiomas have a predilection to arise from the parasagittal region, cerebral convexity, sphenoidal ridge, olfactory groove, and spinal canal. - I was diagnosed 10 months ago with a 10mm meningioma of the brain. I just had another MRI and it shows growth from 10mm to 1.5cm. I have an appointment with my neurosurgeon this Thursday. Just curious -- is that considered an aggressive growth? Thank y... (+)
- CT performed from ER visit on April 30, 2012 for an extremely painful headache lasting about 20 hours with no relief from frequent blasts (explosions) of pain and vomiting. I could not even try to sleep which is normally what I do at the onset of headaches... (+)
