Psoas Abscess
(Abscess, Psoas; Iliopsoas Abscess)


abscess of the psoas muscles resulting usually from disease of the lumbar vertebrae, with the pus descending into the muscle sheath. The infection is most commonly tuberculous or staphylococcal.
