A phospholipid derivative formed by PLATELETS; basophils; neutrophils; monocytes; and macrophages. It is a potent platelet aggregating agent and inducer of systemic anaphylactic symptoms, including hypotension; thrombocytopenia; neutropenia; and bronchoconstriction.
