Metyrapone (Methbipyranone; Methopyrapone)

An inhibitor of the enzyme STEROID 11-BETA-MONOOXYGENASE. It is used as a test of the feedback hypothalamic-pituitary mechanism in the diagnosis of cushing syndrome.
