A suborder of primates consisting of six families: cebidae (some New World monkeys), atelidae (some New World monkeys), cercopithecidae (Old World monkeys), hylobatidae (gibbons and siamangs), callitrichinae (marmosets and tamarins), and hominidae (humans and great apes).
