Adenoma, Acidophil
(Adenoma, Eosinophilic)
A benign tumor, usually found in the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland, whose cells stain with acid dyes. Such pituitary tumors may give rise to excessive secretion of growth hormone, resulting in gigantism or acromegaly. A specific type of acidophil adenoma may give rise to nonpuerperal galactorrhea. - My wife has been diagnosed with a benign type pleomorphic adenoma of about 2-3 cm She has been adviced to remove it due to possibility to become malign. Anybody having an idea what the cost typical is in the US for a surgery removing this tumor/lump? (+)
