Can having sex with someone cause Tinea and candidiasis?

Can having sex with someone cause Tinea and candidiasis?
----------

Both tinea and candidiasis are caused by a fungus. Normally, our body resistance is capable of resisting the effects of these organisms. Having sex with someone that has tinea of candidiasis will not transfer the disease provided that the body resistance is normal.  (+ info)

Hi, Not so long ago i got a skin disease called tinea versicolor Got a question?

I was wondering if there is a complete cure for tinea versicolor.
----------

Use selsun blue 2.5%, which you can buy at any drug store. Put it on the affected area and leave it on for about 10 minutes just while in the shower. It should clear up in around a month or two, but you should notice results earlier.
The bottle looks like this:

Does anyone have an answer to treating tinea versicolor?

I've been to the dermatologist for it and they gave me a shampoo for it and it would take almost a year they said to clear. but i was wondering if anyone knew of something can clear it alot easier.thanks!
----------

There are other treatment options but a doctor's prescription is needed. You can take one dose of ketoconazole or five doses of sporanox but, depending what medications you take, these might be contra-indicated. Diflucan can also be taken. The oral route is the fastest. Please note, if you live in a warm, humid environment, once treatment is complete, you may still have to take the medication once or twice a month to prevent the fungal infection from returning.

When you use topicals (such as shampoo or creams) the treatment takes more time. You must have it severely it the dermatologist told you a year! In most cases, treatment is for a month at most.  (+ info)

Selsun Blue treatment for Tinea Capititis?

I have Tinea Capititis (fungal infection in the scalp that makes you lose hair) and I think it is getting worse. I read online that the selenium sulfide in the Selsun Blue shampoo can help treat Tinea Capititis and Tinea Veriscolor. Does anyone know if that is true?
----------

Selenium sulfide works moderately well for both types of Tinea. Denorex medicated (with coal tar) works even better, but its pretty nasty stuff. A good approach is to use Denorex for a couple days to bring everything under control, and then use Selsun Blue as a daily shampoo.  (+ info)
