I`m now 25 weeks pregnant with alittle girl and i`m starting to get rather stressed as i went into labour at 26 weeks with my son, next week!!
i`m down as being high risk and having extra scans, i was there just last week and everything was ok but i also went for my 24 week scan with my son and still gave birth 2 weeks later, they cant even tell me for definate what caused my sons premature birth, they did mention something about ruptured placenta but said they weren`t certain, so what exactly is this and is there anyway i can avoid it happening again?
My son was in the scbu for 3 long hard months, took infections was on morphine etc etc, he`s now 5 and started school last year, he has verbal dyspraxia but since starting his special needs school where he gets the help he needs he`s come on leaps and bounds!

What are the chances if I was premature and my brother was that my baby will be?
everyone is different. My son was premature.. 28 weeks. I am pregnant with my second baby and I just hit 40 weeks.

If you were a preemie and your brother was? Who knows. Your doctor can do a scan to calculate the length of your cervix. If your mom had a short cervix, you might too. Its hard to say why both of you were preemies...but chances are you will be just fine.

Loads of rest and lots of open communication between you and your doctor is the best bet.  (+ info)

Depends. Isaac Newton was born 3 months early and wasn't expected to live - but he did. It's a long shot, but I suppose it ma be possible to go a little earlier than that.  (+ info)

c. the more premature babies weigh and the closer to term they are born, the less risk of negative outcomes

My friend is 16 years old and shes a vegitarian, she was also born premature and is a female, 5 " 3 tall.

Could the premature birth have effect on her growth as in height?She was born at 6 months so 3 months premature...

It sounds to me like your friend is perfectly normal!
My cousin was born very early, weighing on 2 pounds, and there's nothing wrong with her.
5'3 isn't too short. I'm 23 years old and only 4'11, and i wasn't born early or anything!

it just depends on you really. if your stressed or over worked. im hispanic. i had my first son when i had just turned 18. he was a wk over due. my daughter i had at 21. i worked and went to school but i wasnt stressed. she was 3wks early. my recent son i had before i turned 24. he was 5wks early. i had just got married and moved into a new apt and was always arguing with the hubby. i was stressed. always cleaning and hardly got sleep  (+ info)
