Has anyone ever heard of macrostomia? Or seen a person with it?
I have never seen it, it is very rare, but I have seen photos. It is basically a genetic and congenital abnormality that causes an exaggerated widening of the mouth. The maxillary and mandible areas of the face and jaw are unable to meet and function appropriately. This causes the widening of the mouth, often stretching one, or both sides of the mouth, out and toward the ear. (
