Advice on dealing with hydronephrosis pain? 26 weeks?

Due to being a smaller size person, and having a lot of compression because of pregnancy, my right kidney is inflamed. The baby keeps blocking my ureter tube, I have been prescribed tylonol with vicoden. I've see a urologist and decided against having a stent put in the tube( due to the fact that there are so many things that could go wrong). I'm nervous about the rest of my pregnancy, and the pain issue. Has anybody had this problem, or known someone who has?
----------

Yeah, the pain sent me into labor 3 times. I was told that if I go into labor agian I have to have the sugery. I asked a question on this a few weeks ago.

I was also given Vicotden. (Demoral in the ER.) It's EXTREME pain. I've lived with the pain since my 26 weeks labor start. Im on bed rest now. :(

I feel your pain honey, but besides the surgery or vicoden there's nothing else I was told. :(  (+ info)

Ok i had teflon put in me for Hydronephrosis and have been fine since i was age 2 to 9?

But even thought the kidneys are better can you still have bad emun system and get sick alot.

I find it incredible that you have no problem spelling hydronephrosis but you cannot spell "immune". Also, have to wonder about what you mean by "Teflon" and I suppose it is a stent, but, anyway, you need to get another doctor's opinion or several doctors opinions.  (+ info)

I recently had surgery due to bilateral hydronephrosis.....?

this is very painful and im pregnant. The doctor said that it will go away once I deliver my baby. Do you know if I can apply for Short term disability?
----------

I'm not sure. This will vary from country to country. I think it is doubtful, unless you were in a scandinavian country - and even then probably not.  (+ info)

Hydronephrosis and pregnancy?

I'm 32 weeks pregnant and went for an ultrasound to check my gallbladder because I have been having excrutiating pain on my right side. The ultrasound tech said that she was just going to check my kidneys just in case, when she looked at my right kidney she said that I have hydronephrosis. The doctor said that I shouldnt be concerned, but of course as this is my first pregnancy I am. I was wondering if anyone else had had this problem in pregnancy. What did your doc do about it, and anything else you want to share to help. Thanks

Unilateral kidney hydronephrosis?

I am 26 years old and have a history of kidney problems including stones and unilateral hydronephrosis due to a narrowing/blockage of my right ureter. I had a corrective operation about 2 years ago to "fix" this and now I am hurting and can't urinate again! I am having a cystoscopy in a week, but don't know if I can wait. This morning I urinated and passed strings of bright red blood in my urine....does anyone know why this might have occured. I had a microscopic urine analysis done about 4 days ago and no infection of bladder/kidney or urinary tract.
----------

Is your ureter narrowing or blocked again? Strictures or inflamation in the ureter, due to a kidney stone even, could cause the blood in the urine. You mentioned you're having a cysto in a week; I wouldn't wait. Call your doctor now and let him/her know what's going on. Or, if the blood in your urine increases or you have pain just go directly to the nearest Emergency Room. At least you'll be treated sooner than later.  (+ info)

Pregnancy induced hydronephrosis?

I just had a stent put into my kidney because of hydronephrosis in my right kidney. The pain is worse now than before they did it. I also have severe gestational diabetes so I see a perinatologist along with my regular ob. My Ob put me on oral demerol for the pain which was so bad I couldnt even get up to go to the bathroom. All my drs say that the pain will not get better untill I deliver and have the stent removed. I was just wondering if anyone else has been put on demerol while pregnant. I was on Vicodin with my first for the same problem but my body is immune to it now and my son came out just fine. Just curious.
----------

With my last daughter I had a severe backache, so bad that if I stepped wrong I would fall from the pain. I was put on oral Demerol as well and she turned out just fine. The only side effect that we noticed was her heart rate was slower throughout the whole pregnancy and they had to ween her once she was born, but she's perfect now. Good luck!  (+ info)
