i got elbowed in the face at cheerleading extremely hard and the doctor told me i have a hematoma (blood clot) on my chin, and there is a chance of it calcifying (hardening) and staying on my face, permanently making a bump on my chin. is there any way to help the blood dissipate and make the hematoma go away?
calcifying is very rare; even rarer on a face!! absolutely never let any dr. cut a hematoma to drain it. was he trying to scare you into letting him drain it? If he was, he's a shoemaker. just wait, put warm compresses (water) on it 1/2 hr 3 times a day  (+ info)

I had my first ultrasound today and am 9wk1day. Tech found a bleed around the pregnancy, he said 1 in 4 have this and it may cause spotting but not to panic. I want to know what causes this though. Anybody got any additional info?
Hey girl, I had a pretty severe subchorionic hematoma. If they didn't explain this to you what it is is a basically a collection of blood in between the uterine wall and the chorionic membrane. Since mine was massive and caused severe hemorrhaging they made me stay on bedrest. (I woke up one morning and literally blood splashed all over the floor, i thought I was having a miscarriage) But they are common, and its good they caught yours early. Just take it easy, try not to do any heavy lifting or anything like that. Call your doctor and see if she recomends bedrest, or any other things that you may be able to do. They will also have you do ultrasounds more frequently to see if it has disolved. (I had them once a week for a while)
What causes it is trama. They kept asking me if i had fallen or anything like that, but I had not. I believe it was from some particualarly rough and wild sex the night before.
But girl dont worry, call your doctor and have her schedule you in so you dont sit there worrying. OH and by the way I gave birth to a set of healthy twin boys over a year ago.  (+ info)

I was born with a hematoma on the right side of my brain.It went away a few months later, But now 17 years later i am having symptoms. Has it came back?

it's like saying, I bruised my knee at 5 when I fell over and had a boo boo....and now my leg hurts.....17 years later...could this be connected?

I am 14 weeks pregnant and last week I was diagnosed with a subchorionic hematoma due to a heavy bleeding I had. I was told to take progesterone and to take things easy. The thing is, although I am not bleeding like the 1st day I go through days of no spotting and then days of some light spotting. I wanted to know if anyone has had some experience with those and what was the outcome, thanks! (this is my 2nd pg)
I had a subchorionic hematoma, and placenta previa. I was diagnosed that at 12 weeks after 2 trips to the ER for heavy bleeding. The hematoma has gone away, and the previa has resolved itself. I am now nearly 22 weeks, and me and the baby are perfectly healthy. Good luck and congrats!  (+ info)

Can a low lying placenta cause an hematoma?

Good morning :)
I wanted to know if the placenta not attaching well cause a subchorionic hematoma during pregnancy?
I had bleeding throughout the whole pregnancy, it was light bleeding then at 20 weeks it got worse and I ended up losing my baby boy at 23 weeks because of PPROM.

Any feedback?

Well i have a low laying placenta..it was a previa but now they';re just calling it low laying as it has moved as my belly grows..a low laying placenta is still attached, and they havent said anything to me about a hematoma, so i dont think its what caused it, but im not a doctor or anything so what do i really know:)

During an ualtrusound the found one on my left ovary which has been causeing pain.

it is a complication of long term
anticoagulation therapy. (That
deals with bloodthinning treatment).

Is it okay to use the home treatment for a hematoma in a toenail?

My toes and toenails are pretty small. Also, how much pressure should I use? Since I have three toenail hematomas, I'd prefer to get it right for all three.
are they causing much pain, are they causing the nail to lift? if not then leave them alone, theres no point in going after something thats not causing any problems to potentially create a few problems that way  (+ info)

bleeding has stopped far as I know. Patient's son is getting married. No signs of new hemorrhage since 7/12.
by the way, I am am a physician, will be posting this in Serno too.
This person needs to be asking his doctor this question. It would be foolish to do something that might bring on a reoccurrence of this problem without direction from his physician.  (+ info)
