Is it possible that holding in your pee can cause an earache?

I don't know if the two are connected but once I had to pee really badly and had to use the restroom but couldn't until I found a place that let me. In between the time, I developed an earache. After I found a restroom and went, the earache was gone. Can holding in your pee really cause an earache or was it something else that caused it?
----------

I think it was something else, because I always use to hold my urine while I was in school, because I didn't like using the restrooms.
It isn't good to hold your urine though. They say it can cause damage to you. I forgot what it damages exactly but you shouldn't do it.

But maybe the pressure of you having to go got really strong and the pressure went into your head causing a earache.
I hope that helps some.  (+ info)

earache that turned into a severe sore throat and headache?

I have had an earache for about 3 days now. It would hurt when i touched them or anything like that, so i thought it was a pimple (gross, i know). Last night, I developed a severe sore throat that hurts when i talk or swallow, and horrible headache that has probably been the worst i've ever had. My forehead is hot to the touch and the earache has became significantly better. What could this possibly be?

any cures for an earache caused from a really bad cold?

I have had a really bad cold for 2 weeks and now I have an earache and plugged up ears from the congestion? I have a really runny nose and lots of bloody mucus. Any ideas?
----------

Well, if you have a very bad cold you should of already contacted the doctor and got it doagnosed. You might have gotten some antibiotics.

I would recommend an oral decongestant pseudoephedrine(sudafed) in combination with a painkiller (ie tylenol). If you are going to choose a product, look for Tylenol Sinus or Advil Sinus and take one tablet every 4-6 hours. (Check the ingredients, one should be pseudoephedrine and the other should be either acetaminophen or ibuprofen)

Be careful with sinus products, it is a stimulant and can increase blood pressure.

Just realised my wisdom teeth are coming through and have had an earache ever since?

Hiya,
I went to the dentist a few weeks ago and he said it looked like my wisdom teeth were coming through. This week my jaw and teeth have been sore on the right side of my head, the left side of my head has been sore near my ear and now I've got earache! Does anyone know if these pains are related to my wisdom teeth coming out?

thanks!

Is there a homeopathic way to treat an earache / infection involving putting an aspirin in your ear?

Hi, Has anyone heard of a homeopathic treatment for an ear infection that involves wetting an aspirin (or possibly some other pain reliever) in your ear? This is for an adult in his 50s, not a child, but I still would like to check before I recommend this to him. I thought I saw this home remedy on tv awhile ago but I might be mistaken. If so, I would appreciate any suggestions for how to treat an earache/ ear infection. Thanks.
Hi, Thanks for all the replies so far. I was wondering, as a child I recall getting an ear infection and I was prescribed milky white drops. Were these antibiotic drops? I was wondering if that might be the route to go but since it's Sunday, I was going to try homeopathic remedies first to try and alleviate some of the discomfort. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance. :)

don't do it!
aspirin will not kill the bacteria causing the infection...in fact it'll make ur ear worse...because it can break down the skin...it's acidic...so u will cause an ulceration in ur ear, allowing the bacteria to spread more or let other bacteria into the ear. also it could damage ur ear drum...it'll put a hole in it.
regarding relieving the pain...u don't just apply the aspirin to the painful site...u want to block the pain nerve...to get to it let ur body deliver to the area via the blood. so u need to ingest the pill.
for example- one person thought that to relieve a bad toothache he could just put aspirin on it...he did it, and it dissolved his tooth!
...so don't do it! just swallow the pill if u want pain relief!  (+ info)

Is it normal to have an earache after a surgical tooth extraction? (Dentist responses would be good too)?

I had a bottom molar extracted yesterday and I have been having an earache since last night. I was wondering if this is normal and if anyone else has had this happen after a tooth extraction? My pain in my mouth is less today then yesterday(it hurt a lot yesterday), but the earache is what is bothering me now. Is this normal or should I be worried? Any Dentists know the answer to this , I would appreciate it!
----------

I would say yes that could happen. When they pull your tooth it is very close to your ear and sinus. All that is connected to your ear in some shape or form. As long as your jaw is not in pain or you notice any gross smells you should be ok. Just be sure to keep it clean and use your mouth rinse.  (+ info)

Any suggestions on a really bad earache?

About 3 days ago I started to get a bad earache and it's gotten progressively worse over the past few days. I can't swallow my food either because it also hurts and when I do it makes my earache 20 times worse. I went to the doctor and the quick strep was negative and he said my ears looked clean. I also have a low grade fever. Any suggestions on how to relieve the pain?
Is there any chance it could be mono or EBV? They took blood work for me on that

Boil some olive oil, let cool off for a bit. Dip a cotton ball and firmly place inside of ear. Old school remedy that still works wonders  (+ info)

How do you cure an earache?

My brother has been dealing with an awful earache. My mother and I would love to know if there's anything we can do to cure it.
----------

This will not "cure" the earache. But this will relieve a great deal of the pain and discomfort of the earache. Use the hairdryer. Set it on low and hold the dryer about 8 inches from the ear, directing the airflow into the ear. Be careful not to burn the ear. If it feels too hot, move the dryer further away.

The heat expands the ear canal slightly to relieve the pressure and usually an ear has some fluid build up, which the warm air will dry out.  (+ info)
