Have anyone heard of 12Th rib syndrome also some call it slipping rib syndrome? Where is treatment and info?

I live with pain everyday. It hurts to stand very long and it hurts most of all when walking. Now I walk with a cane and for long walks I have to use a wheelchair. The pain is in both my sides up where my lower back ribs are. Also it hurts twisting while sitting or sleeping on my sides. I have seen all kinds of doctors, had therapy, all kinds of medicines! I have had MRI,CT Scan, and a pelvic ultra sound and through it all I haven't been cured yet! I did get some trigger point injections in the areas where it hurts which was very painful by the way but it did help me some. It helped me about 15% but no more than that. The pain clinic I go to gave me those and now the doctor there is trying different kinds of pills each month which are not helping me! With this constant pain I go through depression and I got frustrated and stop going there for a while. I'm so tired it's been almost 3 years of pain! What can I do next? Please I need help! Please someone, anyone, please help me! Thank you.

i read that treatment about it is that you should underwent 4 months of conservative treatment (eg, activity modification, ice, ultrasound, hot packs, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) after the injury, independently sought chiropractic intervention (12 treatments) 4 to 6 months postinjury, was referred to physical therapy (10 visits) by a nonsurgical sports medicine physician 6 to 8 months postinjury, and finally underwent surgical intervention 9 months after the onset of the initial symptoms  (+ info)

7th cervical rib, what type of developement error is it?what is the developement prosses of this?

I'm an x-ray tech, and I've seen that now and again. It's not really an "error", just an anomoly that happens from time to time...some people are born with an extra lumbar vertebra, some people's aortic arch/vessel location is different than the norm, etc....Nothing to worry about at all...I do wonder if genetics has anything to do with it, or if it's just a matter of chance.  (+ info)

I may have slipped rib syndrome. Is there another way to diagnose this besides the "hooking manuever" test?

Floating Rib Syndrome?

So for almost 2 years now i've been suffering from severe pain at the bottom of my rib cage. The only relief I get is popping my rib in and out place. My doctor (after consulting another doctor) told me I had floating rib syndrome. When I asked about it more, she basically said it was a pretty uncommon ailment with no treatment, and I havent been able to find any information on the internet. Does anyone have any information on the condition or some treatments for it?

I want imformation on cervical syndrome?

Cervical intervertebral disc disease accounts for 36% of all spinal intervertebral disc disease, second only to lumbar disc disease, which accounts for 62% of all spinal intervertebral disc disease. Cervical problems tend to be less debilitating than lumbar problems, and they do not cause individuals to miss work as often as lumbar spine problems do (Hult, 1954; McKenzie, 1990). One of 5 visits to an orthopedic practice is for cervical discogenic pain, with C5-6 and C6-7 accounting for approximately 75% of visits. C7 is the most common nerve root involved (Kramer, 1981). Cervical discogenic pain presents with proximal symptoms first, and, later, it can progress to brachialgia.

In sports, the most common mechanism involved in cervical spine injuries appears to be axial loading with the neck in slight flexion. Because the cervical lordosis is reversed, the cervical spine muscles are at a mechanical disadvantage and cannot efficiently dissipate the forces to the cervical spine. Therefore, forces are transmitted directly to the bones, ligaments, and discs rather than to the muscles, resulting in potential fractures, dislocations, disc herniations, disc degeneration, and ligament sprains. These types of injuries most commonly are seen with sports such as soccer, football, wrestling, ice hockey, diving, rugby, and trampolining (Cloward, 1959; Laprade, 1995; Majors, 1997; Tator, 1991; Tator, 1997; Taylor, 1991; Torg, 1991; Wu, 1985).

The incidence of catastrophic football injuries resulting in tetraplegia has shown a gradual reduction throughout the years. This reduction in incidence is attributed to sports medicine programs and a comprehensive injury tracking system that allows insights into the epidemiology of these injuries. Future prevention strategies can involve enforcing rules, implementing high coaching standards, and educating players about the dangers of high-risk and illegal contact and about axial impact. Also, increased shock absorption of contact surfaces might help in reducing severe spinal cord injuries in impact sports (Laprade, 1995; Tator, 1997).  (+ info)

Is it possible if you have all the signs (temperature, cervical mucus, regular periods) and still not ovulate?

I have PCOS but I started counting my cycles since February and I get my period exactly on every 35th day. I just recently started taking my temperature and will start monitoring my cervical mucus, but I'm wondering if it's possible to have all these signs and still not ovulate if I have POS = Polysystic Ovarian Syndrome.
----------

Yeah, anything is possible. However, if your BBT shows a significant rise that lasts at least 3 temperatures, chances are you ovulated!

HOWEVER (there's a catch, of course), even if you ovulate, sperm can't reach the egg to fertilize it if your tubes are blocked. Good luck!  (+ info)

I dunno.. I dunno if the cervical rib caused my insides to shift over a bit?.. .....any ideas what this could be? Should i wait a few weeks to see what happens? help plase
----------

I think you mean clavical. Cervical has to do with the cervix of the female body.

I'd have them to check to make sure it's not dislocated or fracture. This will feel the same and will hurt. Check w/your doctor for an x-ray  (+ info)

How to cope with symptoms of thorasic outlet syndrome?

I have had my first rib removed. I have used a tens machine, had physio, acupuncture, botox, heat treatments and massage. Nothing seems to help. If anyone has any tips to help relieve my symptoms i will be eternally grateful. I have arm aching and heaviness, a spastic thumb (lots of cramp) and a tightness on the side of my neck. I also suffer pins and needles from time to time.
----------

well aplying pressure usualy works well for relieving pain and if you stick with the physio it should get better over time, also hot water(bath) workes great for pains like these  (+ info)
