Where is the carotid sinus pressure point?

Where is the carotid sinus pressure point? The one that makes you pass out if you touch or squeeze a spot on your neck? I want to know this so bad! Answer please!
I am already looking this up but have no luck, I know its on the neck, I want to know where it is exactly and how to grip it.
If you don't know this pressure point, know any others that will make someone pass out?

Sorry dangerous information. If you really want to know look it up. Remember if you do this to someone he may NOT wake up. Want that on your hands? Hope not.  (+ info)

my friend has cavernous sinus thrombosis?

what is that? how long will he be in the hospital?
----------

the cavernous sinus is an area inside of skull that is just space that receives blood from vessels in different parts of your head like the face, b'c it gets blood from many sources and its doesnt have much outflow, it can form clots, which is what a thrombosis is

so he basically has a blood clot in his head

its hard to say how long he needs to be in the hospital. he will need to have antibiotics gven through an iv, and depending on how he does he could be in there for 2-5 weeks  (+ info)

blood pressure in the carotid sinus gets lower. What is the physiological response?

i need help with this question any help will work
thanks
----------

There are Blood pressure receptors (Baroreceptors) situated in carotid sinus, once the blood pressure falls signal is sent to the brain to the brain resulting in increased peripheral resistance, and secretion of adrenaline.
All vasodilator secretions are stopped and liver and spleen mobilize blood reserve 500 ml from spleen and about 150 ml of spleen.
Peripheral vasoconstriction take place, and blood is supplied to the vital organs.
This process takes place in during road accidents on the roads and highway.  (+ info)

What and where is your Carotid Sinus? Why are you not allowed to use a TENS machine on it?

carotid sinus is a bulb like swelling in your main arteries of the brain located in the neck (not usually palpable)

it has sensors t control heart rate and blood pressure ...

if you apply TENS on it... it is likely that you'll decrease your heart rate and BP to a dangerously low level...  (+ info)

What role does a fistula play in the circulatory system?

I guess what I am trying to ask is, if someone who is on dialysis, has a fistula inserted in his forearm, how does that play into the circulatory system? How does the circulatory system function when a fistula is present? What does the fistula do exactly?
----------

the fistula is much like a central line -- the dialysis patient by the means of a fistula or connection is able to have the machine for dialysis plugged into the body and circulate and filter the blood ,,,, as the patients liver is not able to function and do the filtering inside the body == therefore the ""shunt"" or connection for the dialysis filtering machine .... the fistula is like a connection that goes two ways =the blood is removed from the body -- filtered in the machine -- then returned to the circulatory system  (+ info)

what is the function of cavernous sinus in head ?

Everything has a natural function.

Then there is another meaning for function :
the thing you may learn at school,
that's not really the function, but just a game of our mind (now matter how elaborate it may be).  (+ info)
