Can one get disability for spinal stenosis if married?

I have congenital spinal stenosis of the the neck and lower back. I used to be a vet technician for 18 years. I KNOW I could no longer perform the functions of that job. I am married and was curious if one could be eligible for disability? What if I was not married and a single mom of a 3 and 12 year old. I cannot be on my feet for longer than 15 mins and I have numbness in my left hand.

Thanks
I am only 42 years of age.

Yes, I did. I have severe back problems also. I applied for my disability and was repeatedly turned down, even though I was still going through surgery after surgery and on high doses od Oxycontin. First apply with Social Security and if you are turned down hire an attorney. After going over 2 years with massive medical bills and no income on my part I hired an attorney who got me approved within a couple of months. That check for back pay really helped out! Good luck! Get that attorney! BTW, they can only take a small percentage by law of your back pay, you don't have to pay anything up front. It's soooooo worth it!  (+ info)

Has anyone here had experience with pyloric stenosis in their baby?

My son had pyloric stenosis when he was born and had it corrected at 4 weeks old. He has had so many problems since, have you gone through a child with pyloric or yourself and did you have any complications?
----------

My husband (now 45) had pyloric stenosis. He nearly died as a result, because it was not recognized for some time by the doctors. His parents think they thought he was being abused/neglected. Finally, he was hospitalized and the problem diagnosed. At 6 weeks old, he had surgery to correct it. He has a huge scar across his abdomen, as back then it was not as easily done as it is now. I have never heard of there being any problems afterwards, though he remained in the hospital for several weeks to recover.

What sort of problems is your son having? Has he had a follow up appointment? If you are concerned, you should call his doctor.  (+ info)

Anyone that has had a stent in either carotid or vertebral artery?

My symtoms are dizzy, vertigo, auditory distortions, balance issues, confusion. Wow sounds bad. Anyway I am having a vertebral stent put in. My question is, if successful how soon should some and I hope all symptoms go away? Realizing the carotid blockage presents differently but think same result for another set of problems. Guessing restoring proper amounts of blood flow to the brain is the cure.
----------

They should resolve very quickly after the stenting.

best of luck.  (+ info)

A question about the carotid artery and the throat?

I have a knot in my neck. I saw a doctor today and he said it was my carotid ball. Supposedly it has something to do with my lymphnodes and my immune system. I was wondering why mine would be abnormally swollen and how would I be able to check this?
----------

Wow, i just had this done today. I was at my Dr.'s office last week and i told him it hurts real bad to turn my neck to the right but i can turn it to the left. He listened to my neck with a stethoscope and then ordered a carotid Doppler done on both side of my neck. I guess the lady in the office said my Dr. heard something. He will be calling me in a few days with results. Go to your Dr. now and ask for the Doppler test to be done on both side. Takes about 30 Min's ... maybe 45 min.'s tops and all you have to do is lay there.
good luck.  (+ info)

is there a home remedy for a carotid artery?

something to take to keep arteries clear, have one carotid artery in right side of neck.
----------

You have a carotid artery in each side of your neck. HAVING them is very normal....but having clogged carotids can eventually kill you, so it's not something you want to try to fix at home. The word "carotid" is the name of the artery, not a condition.  (+ info)

can you get a piercing when you have heart murmur and pulmonary stenosis?

ok my friend has heart murmur and a mild pulmonary stenosis. she wants to noe if its safe to get her belly and nose pierced.
----------

Sure, as long as she isn't getting her heart and lungs pierced.
The thing she needs to be very cautious about, however, is where she gets it done and how she cares for it. Infection could be a major problem for her.  (+ info)

Are there any other adults who had pyloric stenosis as a baby and have a weight problem now?

I'm a 31 year old female who had pyloric stenosis surgery at two weeks old. I'm just wondering if there is any correlation between the surgery and being overweight as an adult.
Thanks.
----------

My daughter who is 19 now had this at two weeks old also and she has had no wieght issues due to this. I also had an older brother who is 46 who had this as a baby and he has always been thin. Sorry but i dont think it is anything to do with the pyloric stenosis..  (+ info)

My daughter is seeing a GI for Reflux but they also found a congenital stenosis of the external auditory canal
she also has chemical rhinitis, bilateral mucoid effusion, and dysphagia. Has anyone gone through this if so what did they do. Thank you!!!!
----------

i don't think i remember reading for all of these as a syndrome, fortunately eac stenosis if not severe is not a bad thing and so is gerd. as for effusions, they can consider tympanoplasty depending on the clinical scenario, good luck  (+ info)
