What is treatment for juvenile arthritis like?

I understand it may never go away..but I'm wondering what it is like to live with it.
I'm nineteen and I just realized that I probably have it.
I researched it briefly, but I would like someone on here who has it tell me how it affected their life.
I was thinking about doing martial arts, playing piano, and playing more video games.
My fingers and left leg has been hurting.
Is it detrimental to my health if I don't take treatment? It seems costly and we're not exactly privileged..
oh yeah, can I see a clinic doctor about it?
----------

First of all go to a rheumatologist ( I don't know if it's spelled like that) or even your GP.There is no way you can diagnose your condition,so relax.Visit a doctor and then tell us what he said.If the results are positive, which I doubt seriously, then I'll explain you everything. OK?

Good luck.  (+ info)

My son is 11, just diagnosed with Type A Flu, he is juvenile diabetic. What worries do I have to worry about?

Son has fever, diagnosed with Type A influenza, how contagious is he with other family members. Doctor told me just watch fever and keep fluids in him? Does he have H1N1.
----------

My son who is 10 just got over type A influenza..from what I have read and what his doctor told me is that 90% of all influenza A is H1N1..the CDC is no longer testing because most Type A is H1N1..my whole family did get it...it is very contagious..I tried to contain him to one room as well as use disenfectants..and he even wore a mask when he came out of his room..but when you are in close quarters with someone everyone is bound to get it..and your doctor is right..you just watch the fever..give him tylenol and motrin..keep him hydrated and he should be fine..He will feel bad for about a week and then he will be fine..Don't let the media scare you about the swine flu..it is really just like the regular flu..Just watch him and if he doesn't seem to be getting better then take him back to the doctor..but my whole family including my 2 year old recovered fine..good luck  (+ info)

Can two ponytails or braids make you look younger and is it too juvenile?

just on the average person
and do you give them a thumbs up or down?
----------

I prefer to see one ponytail on an older gal. You can use a curling iron on it for some added body/curl. I'd wear some feathered bangs as well & curled tendrils in the temple area on each side will give way to a more mature look.

Just a word of caution when wearing the hair in a ponytail a lot. Doing so, causes serious hair breakage, so the hair needs to be worn down often. Once hair breaks off in the ponytail area, it will also thin out the hair as well. The same thing will occur when a person wears a hat all the time. (ball cap)  (+ info)

Is it appropriate to invite a convicted juvenile child molestor to a birthday party for a child?

Hey - before attacking ME... maybe you should consider I'm asking this question to show the responses to my SIL who is the one doing the inviting.... She seems to think that it would be okay... I am disturbed she would consider such a thing....
----------

No. Not under any circumstances.  (+ info)

If a child has Juvenile Diabetes does glucose always show up in a urine sample?

I have a 4 year old who drinks excessively and goes to the bathroom frequently, and he doesn't like to eat. I took him to the dr and they did a urine sample and said there was no glucose in his urine. I am not sure if glucose always shows up in urine with JD or if I should have them do a blood test and stuff to confirm that he doesn't have it. Please anyone with advice, help me!!
----------

If his symptoms were due to undiagnosed diabetes, there would be glucose in his urine. If thirst and urination are his only symptoms, I wouldn't worry yet. Type 1 diabetes is not as subtle as type 2, your son would be sick and vomiting if he had type 1.  (+ info)

How do you use behavior therapy to treat conduct disorder juvenile?

Behavior therapy works on a reward system, you make a chart and talk about the behaviors you want to change, do this in a positive way...... Then set up a reward system for when the goal is achieved, set easier goals at first the key is to help them succeed..... I find it works best when the whole family uses the therapy together for instance mom is supposed to keep a calm voice when talking to the children, or dad can't yell at mom..... There are a lot of websites to help learn more..... Take the techniques then adapt it to work for your family...... Have fun with it and enjoy it go all out when you make the charts, we used poker chips and decorated our own jars to put them in, the attitude change in the children was great.......  (+ info)

What can't i find State by State ranking on juvenile diabetes and childood obesity?

I'm trying to dig up research to show how my State (Arkansas) ranks in those diseases. I'm finding just about every other data but by State?? Thanks!
I'm sorry, I guess I need to make the question more clear. I am not trying to group the two together. I am looking for the individual ranks for each disease- not a common factor. Thanks... (and still need to know where to look...)
:(
----------

Wildemoose is completely correct. There is NO correlation between Type 1, Juvenile diabetes and childhood obesity. You will find no information on it because there is absolutely NO connection.  (+ info)

Can you put your child in juvenile detention center for hitting or kicking you or just constant disobedience?
