How do you get wounds to heal?

I have wounds on multiple parts of my body (I put it through a lot of hell) and I was wonder what's the quickest way to get them to heal?
Uh, btw-I might have diabetes and someone told me that means it could take longer for wounds to heal, and I've had most of them for years, really, because they itch and I scratch them...I don't like how they get that hard cover when healing, how can I prevent that?
if uv got diabetes, u should consult an internist to control ur blood sugar. those wound will never go away and may even progress as long as ur blood sugar is not controlled.
for generalized or multiple wounds, best is to take oral antibiotic medication.
go to ur doctor, dont live in misery, u can live a normal long life just like everybody if ur blood sugar is well-controlled. plus u'll avoid the long-term complications of diabetes.  (+ info)

I recently got a pimple from my hormonal time of the month. I have an important event coming in 5 days so i want it to heal nicely. It's called lysine cold sore treatment.. yes i know cold sores arn't wounds, but this stiff contains many vitmins such as vitamins D,A, E it also contains zinc oxide and many other benifical healing agents.. what do you think?
Well why I do not think it will harm it. I do feel there are much better products available that will help clear it up quicker.
I would try to find something with a high percentage of "Salicylic Acid" in it salicylic acid is basically aspirin. but it will help dry up and burn away the first couple layers of skin. Allowing the health skin layers up under the pimple take its place. Good Luck! ;-)  (+ info)

What is it that makes wounds itch when healing?

Just had major surgery and the key hole wounds are itchy as hell.
There is really no definitive answer to that, but the prevailing theory is that histamine (the substance that causes itchy allergic reactions) is released by the cells of injured and healing tissues. Histamine release is a normal part of the healing process, so the itchiness is a sign that healing has begun. With your doctor's permission, you may be able to take an antihistamine to help relieve the itching or you may be able to apply a topical cream (less effective because the process causing the itching isn't superficial). Got this from my friend. According to her, there's a part of the coconut that, when applied to a diabetic person's wounds, can help speed up the healing process. I don't know the difference between the healing process of a normal person and a diabetic person, but I wanted to know more about this, so anyone know about this, too?

I always knew they would eat the dead flesh and used to be very affective for keeping wounds clean. Then I was watching House and they used it on a burn patient. So of course my first though was, ew, but then I wondered would a real doctor ever use them these days?

How can I find out about workplace regulations for co-workers who openly dress their wounds?

There is a person that I work with who has strange "wounds" all over his body and he sits at his desk and openly dresses, cleans the wounds. Sometimes, there will be bloody gauze and napkins on his desk. He throws these materials in his trash or in the kitchen trash. How can I find out about workplace safety? I have looked online but do not really know where to look and my company doesn't have anything listed.
Also, this person says his wounds are from a biking accident, yet, he has had them and they keep growing, since I have worked here - for over 3 years, others say he has had them for 5+ years. He is not open about the wounds and it is all very strange, but either way, there is now blood involved and it grosses me out.

I have noticed the healing process of wounds like cuts or small bleeding areas seem to be so much faster on the plane? I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the plane is vacumed of air when flying.
