TRansabdominal Ultrasound please help thank you.?

I am a 16 year old teenager and i'm worried about my periods being late and PREGNANCY. My last period was 3/9 making it 3 months and 2 weeks when they did a Transabdominal Pelvic Ultrasound on me. The result was : My uterus was not enlarged, thin endometrium lining, clear adnexa and cul de sac? What is cul de sac and Adnexa anyway? My OB said that my periods are late because i am over stressing about it. SHe said that i should get another U/S on july (making my periods 4 months late) and if my uterine lining is already thickened then she will be giving me pills to regulate it. QUESTION is: DOES A TRANSABDOMINAL TYPE OF ULTRASOUND really ACCURATE ON DETECTING what is really inside a WOMAN's UTERUS? DOES MY 3 months and 2 weeks LMP U/S RESULTS TELLS THAT I AM 100% NOT PREGNANT? I'm WORRIED.
What do you actually see inside a pregnant woman's womb on a 3 months scan on a TRANSABDOMINAL U/S? please specify if its a gestational sac, embryo, heartbeat etc. thanks.

Well, you keep mentioning transabdominal. A transvaginal u/s is more sensitive for picking up small gestational sacs.  (+ info)

Tansvaginal u/s results: Subendometrial cyst, nabothian cyst, complex cystic lesion, enlarged ovary - HELP!!!!

PLEASE ONLY POST SERIOUS ANSWERS. ANSWERS FROM MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS IS GREATLY APPRECIATED!! THANKS!!!
I was able to talk the nurse into faxing the results of my u/s to me and it had scared me. I almost had to leave work because I was so emotional but I was able to tough it out. Here's what the report reads:
Radiology Report - Transvaginal Ultrasound
Findings: The uterus is unremarkable in appearance and it measures approx. 7.2cm in sagittal legnth. The endometrial stripe measures 9mm. A subendometrial cyst approx. 3mm in size is visualized. Nabothian cyst incidentally noted in the region of the cervix.
The right ovary has a complex appearance and is enlarged measuring approx. 5.2x3.2x2.6cm. It contains complex cystic lesion approx. 3.7x2.1x2.3 cm and contains small follicle. No free fluid is present in the cul-de-sac
Impression: Right adnexa is enlarged and has a complex appearance. This may be related to a hemorrhagic cyst but repeated transvagainal ultrasound is recommended
----------

You have alot going on. First a off it would look to me as though you have a cyst inside on the wall of your uterus. A cyst on your cervix is common (I've had one) and will usually go away on it's own. The measurements of your ovary suggest a cyst as well. When it says "small follicle", that is the beginning of an egg. This means you are ready to ovulate. I have also gotten a cyst on my ovary. It is common to get one when you ovulate. These can pop on their own but sometimes require surgery to drain the cyst if it gets to big. The right adnexa is refering to your ovary and tube on the right side. They are also concerned about a possible cyst or ruptured cyst in this area. The reason they are asking for a repeat u/s is most likely to verify that the cysts are shrinking on their own and to make sure no others develop. Hope I helped.  (+ info)

From reading the result you have a 3mm cyst in the endometrial layer, this inner layer of the uterus. You have a cyst near the cervix and it appears that you have a cyst on your right ovary. Adnexa is the ovary. Fibroids might be the cause of the cyst in the uterus. As for the ovaries it could be fibroid tissue or an ovarian cyst. Still at a loss as to what's wrong with me. Please Help!!!!?

Urine culture read: “Results suggest gross contamination/inappropriate handling. Repeat 10000 CFU per ml Streptococcus agalactiae (Group B). CDC recommends pregnant women w/group B Streptococcus bacteriuria receive intrapartum chemoprophylaxis.” PCP never discussed pregnancy. B/W shows low blood count. PCP says urine & bloodwork are fine. Wk later each time I’d urine/wipe, brownish/yellowish/light pinkish mucous. Then bled heavy w/severe cramps (doubled over), very dark brownish/red blood w/heavy clots, vomit/lightheaded. PCP says ultrasound normal. Shows retroverted (tipped) uterus, nabothian cysts in cervix, endometrial stripe, fluid in right adnexa & cul-de-sac. Unclear what any of this means. Tech performed test on an empty bladder. Had 2 test, one was to be NPOx6h and then I was to fill-up with liquids wait 1hr, then have pelvic U/S. Tech said I didn’t need to fill-up, even had me empty my bladder during the pelvic U/S. I always thought the bladder was to be full for pelvic U/S.
Please note: I haven’t seen GYN. A brief history: At the onset of this, I gained 10 lbs in 3 days, then another 10 within 2 weeks, but my weight is still within normal limits and I am not overweight. The initial weight gain started to drop, but my stomach is still swollen. I’ve never had a small stomach, even when I was in a size 1. My stomach has been “saggy-like’ with a pouch since I had my first child. Even when I have gained weight and was overweight, it still had that “saggy-like” look to it. Now it has a “round/full like” look to it. I look about 5-6 months pregnant. Even if I were pregnant, it would only be 6 weeks or less. I’m still experiencing lower abdominal cramping with some back cramping, spotting, nausea, vomiting lightheadedness and sensitivity to smell. At first I thought it was my gallbladder, but I have no gallstones, although I do experience gallbladder attacks. Could it be something I am missing?

Simple Cyst in pregnancy?

i went for my 2nd scan today and on my notes the sonographer put right ovary contains a 1.5cm simple cyst? luteal
A small amount of free fluid is seen in the pouch of Douglas/ Right adnexa?

what does all this mean im worried im only 8 weeks pregnant
----------

I'm at 14 weeks + 6 with 2 cysts on my left ovary. When I had my scan at 8 weeks I was told they were nothing to worry about, were quite common during pregnancy, but staff would keep an eye on them all the same.

As with any pregnancy there can never be a guarantee that everything will be fine. I think you can take heart now though, because they've diagnosed the cyst early on. That means they'll be watching for it. If they've given you no specific instructions or things to look out for as a direct result of finding the cyst, then breathe a big sigh of relief and know that if they're not worried by it then you don't need to much either :)

Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. I hope it all goes well for you :)  (+ info)

understanding dr. lingo?

what does this mean when a dr. says...the fundus is difficult to palpate due to habitus as well as the adnexa...I just dont under stand. I'm reading a medical report can someone help
----------

During a bimanual exam of the female (ie a pelvic exam), if you are an obese women it is difficult to feel the uterus and the ovaries.

fundus = the body of the uterus
adnexa = ovaries
palpate = to feel
habitus = overall body shape, ie fat skinny  (+ info)

Symptoms of raised hormone levels, the pill and ovarian mass?

Hi, I have been diagnosed with a complex left adnexa mass and am currently waiting to see a Gyno. Before the mass was found because of the pain and irregular bleeding I tried two different contraceptive pills, neither of them helped. The both increased my lower back pain and made my constant nausea a lot worse. I would like to know if adnexa mass or ovarian cysts can cause oestrogen and progesterone levels to be raise and if this was what was causing my constant nausea. I figure that if it was, taking the contraceptive pills that are hormones would have been why my symptoms were worse when taking them. I will be asking my Gyno in 2 weeks, but have goggled around and can't seem to find a straight forward answer. Anyone who knows or has experienced this or similar, I would really appreciate answers and advice .Thanks

cyst worry in pregnancy!!?

i had my 12 week scan on the 16th sept and everything went well until i looked through my maternity notes at home, inside was a seperate note saying single live fetus 20mm an then patient has a well circumscribed cyst in the left adnexa measuring 23mm. anyway i called the hospital that did my scan but the lady who did it was too busy to come to the phone so the receptionist had to relay the info back to me which was it should have gone by my next scan and that it was wer the egg came from??? which i totally did not understand and couldnt ask the questions i wanted because she was only reception. I know cysts are common in pregnancey but am still worried as i havent got a clue whats going on, maybe if i knew what the adnexa was an why the cyst was there would help me a little as i thinks its more the not knowing anything about it thats worrying so any comments greatly appreciated thanx xxx
----------

do not worry i had cyst when i was pregnant in my 12 weeks scan they told me and i asked them if there is any risk they told me it is ok and some time during pregnancy it will go by it self if not we will remove it after you had your baby, then on my 21st they did not said any thing but i asked them they told me it has gone by it self, so hope fully nothing to worried about it.  (+ info)
