What is Benign intracranial hypertension (BIH)?

I am 24 years old and I suffer from migraines , but for the past three months my head has had alot of pressure, I'm dizzy , my neck is stiff and I fell confused, but I do not have a tempature. My eyes are very heavy feeling and I sleep alot with much fatigue. I did some research unlike my neurogist and came across BIH does anyone know about it?
How can you diagnose this disease just by looking at someone?
Also I am not overwieght.
----------

BIH, also called psuedo-tumor cerebri, primarily affects females. There is no effective treatment for BIH, and any medical action performed is usually done to treat symptoms, and not the disease itself. BIH is linked to obesity, and weight loss reduces or even eliminates the symptoms in a majority of cases. Age, also, plays a role in BIH, with symptoms disappearing as the patient gets older.

The only medical test to prove BIH conclusively is a pressure testing spinal tap, although some cases of BIH test negative using this procedure.

Your symptoms could also be from tension, stress, or even TMJD. Not to say that you don't have mild BIH without the usual physical manifestations, but there is little your neurologist could do if you did, anyway.

If your overweight, lose weight. Also, try relaxation exercises to see if it helps your stiff neck, in case its really just muscle tension.  (+ info)

light headed, and confused. are these signs of increased intracranial pressure?

Recently I aggravated an old neck injury and I am becoming fearful that my meninges has possibly become swollen and the natural flow of csf is interrupted causing my recent headaches, lightheadedness, brownouts, dizziness and tachycardia. Is this possible?
