I've had ear infections on and off for a little while and I don't like to take antibiotics because of the severe side effects. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
----------

Do some research on colloidal silver, it was used for infections in the early 19th century with great success but than penicillin came about and it was all but forgotten. Now that the modern antibiotics are getting ineffective colloid silver is making a come back.

Hundreds of studies conducted over the past 90 years at top medical universities in both Europe and America have confirmed the phenomenal infection fighting powers of colloidal silver, an all natural antibiotic substance. Colloidal silver ions kill many of the deadly infectious microorganisms that no longer respond to prescription antibiotic drugs. In fact colloidal silver has been demonstrated to kill over 650 different disease-causing pathogens.

You can buy colloidal silver at health food stores or make it yourself.  (+ info)

What could be the cause of reoccurring bladder infections?

My doctor can't figure out what causes it. I take some antibiotics and it goes away for about a month. The infections happen about every other week and don't last for mare than a day or two. If they last for more than a day I start to feel sick and sleepy. I try to keep very clean, especially since this has started happening.

This started about a year ago.

How long do staph infections usually last?

My dad has had a staph infection for about a week and a half now. He went to the doctor at least five times just this week. They had to some medicine in there. It started out as a boil on his stomach, then it got worse and turned into staph. How long do staph infections usually last?
----------

It depends on the person and the medication being used. It is important to have the dressing changed frequently (as soon as it geets infected). It is also important to eat very well with a lot of protein to promote healing. It is also important to eat plenty foods rich in iron such as leafy green veggies and organ meats. This promotes a greater production of blood which causes more blood to reach the site and fight infection. It is also important to take the prescribed medication as perscribed. It is also important to allow the site to rest and to prevent any additional trauma. Staph can get worse if the person infected doesn;t do the steps above which promote healing and eradicate the bacteria. Staph infections can cause death and can last for the rest of someones life depending on the species of staph.  (+ info)

How can I stop infections due to bodybuilding?

I've recently started heavy weight training sessions in the gym but keep getting infections like flu and chest infections.

My weight training sessions are intense and I also do intense interval cardio on alternate days. My goal is weight gain and big muscles.

What can I take to help keep my immune system strong?
Thanks.
----------

Perhaps you are over-training or not eating well--however, it sounds like more than just that.

I am a former bike racer and lived and worked at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs while I was a journalist. I knew many Olympic athletes at that time.

None of them nor any of the hundreds of competitive cyclists I've known in my life had trouble with infections from training. I suggest you see your doctor. Something doesn't sound right.  (+ info)

I keep getting bacterial infections and keep going back to the doctor for medicine. Any suggestions?

I have recurring bacterial infections. I feel like the medicine I am being given to treat the infection is not strong enough and doesn't completely fight off the bacterial. Has anyone been in this situation before and does anyone know anything that can be done?
----------

Well, generally I can say that if the treatment and diagnosis is right there should be no problem. Do you take antibiotics on right dosages and frequency? If antibacterials are suddenly stopped or minimized, drug resistance may occur thereby decreasing it's effectiveness. If that should happen, a "stronger" type of antibiotic is given OR a combination of drugs to increase potency.  (+ info)

What are causing all of my bladder infections?

I have had numerous bladder infections and I am on the second antibiotics they my system as come immune to. I have no idea why I am getting these bladder infections, I have stopped using tampons and I urinate after intercourse I don't know what else to do. Could taking baths every night be the cause? Any ideas what could be causing all of these infections? Is there any way to prevent them?
----------

One way to keep yourself healthy down there is to drink around 8 cups of water a day, it's a natural way to help your body detox. You also may be low in certain vitamins. Or have an STD. When was your last physical that included blood tests? Have you gotten a pap smear this year yet? Another thing you can do is keep yourself extra clean in that region, but try not to get lotion of perfumes there. Use a mild soap to clean yourself. Another factor can be a genetic thing. You may be prone to getting bladder infections. Hope this Info helps. Good Luck & Feel Better!

p.s. if you are going to drink cranberry juice for the bladder infections, make sure to get 100% cranberry juice. Most of them are just pure added sugars, and tons of other juices added to it. You can find the pure cranberry juice in the health section in your supermarket.  (+ info)
