Is there any side effect of not doing the communicating hydrocele repaire?

my 5 month old baby have a hydrocele (communicating type) and it need a surgery to repair it and this surgery will done when he became 2 years old. i need your addvice please help
----------

All good. As a baby it will do him no harm. When he starts to stand up, it will inflate more due to gravity and may become irritating. On the other hand, it may well close itself off automatically (did they tell you this?)

Since the anaesthetic is safer at age 2, there is no harm at all in waiting. If it was still present (or came back at a later age) it would tend to be embarrassing. But it is unlikely to affect his testes.  (+ info)

How long it takes to attain normal size after surgery for " HYDROCELE "?

My son, 24 years old, recently underwent surgery for hydrocele. He, in fact, was told the the scrotum will attain normal size soon after but in vain. 23 days passed since the operaion. Will this help gain back normalcy in size and health ? If yes, how long? Is there any other means to accelerate the recovery? I would request your valuable information on the subject. The problem actually started only 5 moths back, with slight increase in size.
----------

unfortunately, my surgery for the same procedure was not successful. i kept going back to my urologist and he kept telling me to give it more time for healing. after six months (with pain), he finally redid the surgery with a plastic surgeon accompanying, that's how deformed the area looked.  (+ info)

Do young boys that have testicular cancer have a high percentage of getting it cured?

Do young boys that have testicular cancer have a high percentage of getting it cured? And also how do you cure testicular cancer?
----------

Testicular is a young man's cancer; but it primarily affects young men in the 20 to 44 year old age group, not young boys.

It is a cancer that responds very well to treatment, with 90% of cases cured.

Surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy are used in treatment, depending on the individual case.

My father had testicular cancer at the age of 29; he had the affected testicle removed and had radiotherapy.

He went on to live a full and active life, and fathered three more children. He died 47 years later of something unrelated to cancer  (+ info)

Have there been anything such as a testicular transplantation?

I was wondering if testicular transplantation was ever attempted?

Let's say for someone that had testicular trauma and had to have both removed.

If so, if got someone pregnant, will it be his child?
----------

I personally haven't heard of it but I cant see it happening because it is unethical.

Can a 13 year old get testicular cancer?

I am a little older now but at around that age i noticed something. I had an undescended testicle when i was born. The growth or lump, is painless and is very visible and possibly is not attached to the testicle itself. The testicle itself is smaller then my other one but obviously that can be unrelated. There is no family history of this and if it is testicular cancer, what other symptoms should i feel?
----------

To answer your question indirectly . .and not specifically about what is happened to you . . the answer is yes, boys can get testicular cancer at your age (though you are a bit young at 13) . .so, you should definitely go to a doctor to have this examined. No one here can tell you specifically what you have . . this needs to be seen by a medical doctor who can make an examination and diagnosis. Testicular cancer affects males between the ages of 15 - 35. It is considered a germ cell cancer . . females will get ovarian cancer, and males testicular . . both are germ cell cancers.

All my sperms are non-motile. I am advised to go for testicular biopsy to get the motile sperms. Is it helpful?

Is it possible to get live sperms with testicular biopsy, when my semen collected by masterbation contains all most nil motile sperms with 60million/ml count.
Is it possible to perform ICSI with non motile sperm?
----------

A Biopsy is a procedure where by the doctor removes a sample of tissue for study. He will send it to a lab where they will run tests on it in an effort to diagnose (find the reason) why your sperm cells are not motile. The Biopsy in and of it's self will not correct the problem, it may only lead you to the reason for it.  (+ info)
