Can I get a Hydrocele operation and Penile Implant at the same time?

I came up with a Hydrocele AFTER Inguinal Hernia Operation a year ago. It doesn't hurt,,but big enough to bug me,,gotta wash my sac more than usual. I suppose it will have to be fixed before i can get a penile Implant. AGE is not my problem MEDICINE is the problem,,blood thinner,,blood pressure meds.

The new ED drugs have made penile implants very, very rare: are you sure you need an implant?  (+ info)

NHS spend on testicular and prostate Cancer compared to Breast and cervical ?

Me and the wife were having a discussing about the relative nhs investment and mortality rates of male and female cancers (as she is a school nurse assistant). I maintain that male cancers (testicular / prostate) are not taken as seriously as female cancers (breast and cervical) and have less investment in them. Does anyone know if there is a disparity between the four cancers and why this is the case?

Please don't cloud the issue by telling me that men suffer with breast cancer, I know!
----------

I think some of it is how much coverage they get. Breast cancer has a huge promotional effort behind it and is a big money make so they spend lots of money on research.  (+ info)

Where do I go to get screened for testicular cancer?

I don't have insurance so I dont feel like going to my family doctor and give him 200 dollers so that he sends me to the right place. Where do I specifically go to get screened for testicular cancer? I live in Detroit.
----------

Sorry to inform you but I've worked in the medical profession for over 15 years now and MOST places won't see you until you have a referral from your family MD. That way they are sure nobody is wasting anybodys time or money. But you can try calling any Oncologist to see if they will see you without a referral. An Oncologist is a specialist who deals with nothing but cancer - no matter the location of the body. And another word of warning - the tests that will need to be performed ain't cheap either! Be prepared to fork out ALOT of dough - because without tests - there is NO for sure way of telling if it is indeed cancer. The other girl who wrote to see a Urologist is incorrect - That is a doctor who helps with pee problems - not cancer!  (+ info)

Can i actually get testicular cancer from having my phone in my pocket?

Ive heard that i could get testicular cancer from always carrying my phone in my pocket. Is this true?
----------

The chances of you getting testicular cancer from carrying your phone in your pocket is like saying your iPod will increase your chances of testicular cancer. Nobody knows what causes cancer and why it gets some people and not others, so theres no way to say. I would say that there a zillion more risky things in life than carrying your cell phone in your pocket, heck, I bet taking a 10 minute stroll through a smoky bar is more cancer chancing than a cell phone in a pocket.

Also while I think that there are obvious things you shouldn't do like smoke, eat really bad, take poor care of yourself...it all comes down to your own fate. I had advanced stage cancer until a few months ago, at age 27 and I seemingly did everything right. Ate right, exercised, didn't even have high-risk HPV yet I still had cervical cancer :/

Some things are meant to happen as cruel as they seem. I value every day of my life more than I ever valued one day before my cancer. So even though it's caused lots of heartbreaking side effects (treatment side effects too) I am happy I made it and I don't think anything besides coming that close to death could've made me think that way.

So carry your cell phone in your pocket, enjoy your life and live every day to the fullest :)  (+ info)

Can the pain from testicular cancer come and go?

I've been recently having some symptoms of testicular illnesses. In the past, about 9-12 months ago, I has similar problems but with physical therapy and I guess some Ibuprofin, they eventaully went away. Is this type of coming and going possible, not possible or unlikely with testicluar illensses, especially signifigant ones like cancer?
----------

Absolutely, go to the doctor and get it checked out. Call today! The "coming and going" is possible. You don't feel it every day so it's easy to ignore. Testicular cancer is generally a small, hard, painless lump which can protrude the scrotum slightly. Often it is only felt when you're in a warm shower but not necessarily every time. Also, feel your breasts around your nipple if they are sore ... this is a another symptom caused by an elevated hormone level associated with TC.

AGAIN - call today. Make an appointment for as soon as possible. If it is testicular cancer, every day counts and 9 months is far too long to wait.  (+ info)

How will i feel after testicular cancer?

I have testicular cancer and am getting the left testicle removed later in the month, my question is after i get it removed how will i feel physically? Right now i feel generally healthy except i am always tired. Will I have more energy? Will anything else change physically?
----------

You will be weak and very tired if you are required to have chemo treatments. Hopefully your surgeon will be able to answer any questions you have and advise you if you need an oncologist.

Think of Lance Armstrong who was able to recover very well. He is an aspiration to all of us. Good luck with your recovery.  (+ info)

what is the stages of testicular cancer?

what are the stages of testicular cancer? how could i tell i have it without a lump? would i get really ill or something? and is there treatment that doesnt cause any affect on the testicles and sex life and soo fourth? information will be appreciated.
----------

The symptom of testicular cancer is a palpable lump in the testicle that is firm and not tender. Most masses in the testicle are cancerous, most masses outside the testicle are not.
If you have a concern, do have it checked.  (+ info)

what are the diffrence in Testicular cancer and epidermal cysts lumps?

I have a report for heath class and I want to know the difference between Testicular cancer lumps and epidermal cysts lumps. I need to know like stuff like color, size and location? and what cause epidermal cysts? so what is the difference between them?
----------

You haven’t read the material have you?
Cancer can spread to other parts of your body and if left untreated can kill you. Epidermal cysts lumps cannot. Unless the doctor showed it to you after surgery you would never know the color and I can’t see how this would matter.  (+ info)
