The purpose of their question is so that they can gage how long it will take for rehabilitation and to what extent they will be making an investment into your recovery. Another words the severity of the injury. They also have to submit information about the injury and thats how our stats our formulated.  (+ info)

how to recover pattela and tendon injuries faster

i am weightlifter and haveing problem in my knees
----------

Yes, as kristian said. Rest is the only cure. If you continue to aggrivate it by weight lifting, it will only make it worse and will then take longer to heal. Try hot packs when you have pain and stop lifting or strenuous exersise (I.E:Running) for a few weeks. If this continues, you should speak to your doctor. But the WORST thing you could do is ignore it and work through the pain, The pain is telling your body to stop what it is doing

Is surgery needed to heal tendinitis or tendon strain?

I am not sure 100% if I have tendinitis or quad strain, but I wanted to know what would be the best way to treat either. I am looking for anything that would help me besides rest but if that is the best treatment without surgery, I am for it. My knee does not experience any swelling just pain on the knee cap or pain to a muscle or tendon. I seen a physician about it and he told me just rest. Do anyone have any experience with these injuries?
----------

Tendinitis by it's very name means that you have an inflammation. There is not really any surgical way to fix this. In order to reduce the pain from inflammation, you can take Ibuprofen or Naproxen. Naproxen typically has fewer side effects and tends to be easier on the stomach when taken for extended periods of time. It is available over the counter as Aleve. The recommended dose should provide you with temporary relief. Additionally, follow the R.I.C.E. method.

R = rest
I = Ice
C = Compression
E = Elevation

You should rest your leg in an elevated position as much as possible, but if that isn't the most convenient, a compression bandage such as an over the counter ace bandage should provide some relief.
The ice will really only help reduce swelling for the first few days, however it can help with pain.

Muscle strain will be treated in the same way, however as long as there is no swelling, heat may help reduce pain. Try heat wraps, epsom salt baths, or even icy hot.

If there is actual ligament or muscle damage, you will need surgery in order to repair the damage, but strain or inflammation are by far the most common causes of pain.  (+ info)

What exercises can I do with certain body injuries?

I'm need to exercise for weight loss. I have a pulled muscle in the stomach area due do acute bronchitis and a painful ankle or tarsal tunnel syndrome with a slight tear in the tendon.
What exercises can I do that won't make things worse ? I must exercise ! Thanks for all info.
----------

Wow...that does make things tricky. But usually being on a recumbent bike would allow you to exercise without putting any strain on your ankle or stomach muscle. You could also try swimming as that gives you the weightlessness of being in the water. There are probably some weight machines that you could still use too. Just let your body be your guide...it will let you know if something isn't right.

----------

I've had occupational therapy after a grade IV ankle sprain which developed complications - and it's nothing like physical therapy - well, not with the health providers I dealt with. Occupational therapy is about learning how to do things in a different way - when you've got some type of injury or physical disability that prevents you from doing things the way you normally would. For example - with a wrist injury that has thumb involvement you may learn how to open a jar or turn on a tap and they may source gadgets to make this easier. I had to learn how to structure my work day around my pain, setup my office with equipment to keep my leg elevated and reduce the need to get up from my chair for simple things like the telephone. The physiotherapist took care of treating the physical effects of the injury that they could, and the occupational therapist took care of helping me to modify my work practices and work environment. Naturally it may be different in other countries.  (+ info)

I am experiencing pain around my achilles tendon, only while running, what can I do or what is it?

I play soccer, and the pain always seems worse in the first half of the game, to the point that I cannot really run without limping. After halftime, I do a lot better in the second half, some minor discomfort, but nothing that enables me from running and playing like at the beginning. After the game or exercising, there's no pain either. I am 32 and physically active, never had any injuries or fractures. Not sure what's going on.

Probably beacause your not stretching, massagewill help trust me it helps it used to happen to me when i played squash you might want to considering resting it for a while if it hurts that much...  (+ info)
