What is a good way to remove a tailor's bunion (bunionette), WITHOUT surgery?

I have a tailor's bunion (bunionette) on each sides of my feet. They are located right below each of my smallest toe. They look like calluses and they are extremely unattractive. I guess I got them from wearing a pair of shoes that squoze my feet. I doubt that I will be able to wear open toe shoes again. What is the best way to remove them. Surgery is NOT AN OPTION. All replies will be appreciated...Thanks

You question the best way to remove a tailor's bunion. Surgical intervention is the only means to eliminate a bunionette. If the bunions are extremely painful, then your alternative would be surgery.
In the meantime, wear a shoe with a wide toe box for comfort.
You mention that surgery is not an option. If the problem is financial, any reputable podiatric surgeon's office will work with you.  (+ info)

What exercises can I do after having bunion surgery?

Yesterday I went clothes shopping and ended up very depressed. I need to amp up my exercising and switch from diet pop to water. Hopefully that will help.

My big problem is I am having bunion surgery in a few weeks. I have an ellipitcal and love it but after having bunion surgery I will be unable to use it. What other things can I do during recovery for exercise? After my right foot is healed I will be having my left foot done.

When is it time for bunion surgery and how long is the recovery?

I have lived with a bunion on my left foot for many years. Recently it has become increasingly uncomfortable, sometimes painful. I still jog on the treadmill and walk alright, but I know it will only worsen.

Is surgery something I should do now, or later? How long is the recovery time before I can work, seated, and how long before I can work, standing? How long before I can jog and do everything else?
----------

It varies from each person's will to recover and age. A friend of mine, did it when she was 55. She actually had surgery on both feet at different times. She told me, although it was painful, it was annoying that only after 6 month, she got rid of the pain completely. She would do it again if she had to.

How long after bunion surgery can I return to sports?

I have to get bunion surgery next summer, but I do competitive cheerleading. how long will it be before my foot will have fully healed and I can safely go back to competing? I'm 18 right now.
----------

I hope that the procedure is being done by a podiatrist as they are the experts in this field. Talk to your doctor about which procedure is going to be done. That way you will know about how long you are going to be out of commission. Most likely it will be about two months. A lot of this is going to depend on how bad the bunion is and how much work has to be done in surgery. That goes back to the procedure being used. The joint is going to be sore and stiff for a while so you might be sent to physical therapy or it might be done in the doctors office. You are young and should respond to the procedure quickly. Hopefully you will get a custom made pair of orthotics made and they will support your feet in a neutral position cutting down on the stresses imparted to the great toe.   (+ info)

Can you wear high heels after bunion surgery?

Hi,

I'd like to know if you can wear high heels after your bunion surgery heals months later? Has anyone had this procedure done? I heard it does not really hurt that bad and that you will be in special shoes for 6 weeks.
----------

Well, the whole idea of the surgery is so that you can wear pretty high heels again. Yes, you will be able to. Your feet will be in bandages for a while and if you get both sides done at once you will be using crutches. Eventually, you will be quite normal.  (+ info)

How long will an irritated bunion hurt?

I seriously irritated a bunion on my right foot when doing aerobics. I can barely walk on it now because the pain is so intense. How long will the irritation last? It normally doesn't bother me unless I wear the wrong shoes but it has never hurt like this! Will it get back to the way it was before?
----------

It will. Wear loose shoes and give it a break. I've had them on both feet forever and baby them to the max. Nearly 40 years experience of purchasing bunion friendly footwear ~ never wear heals nor tight shoes. Pain free.  (+ info)

Where exactly is a bunion located and how do you know when you're having issues?

I am in extreme pain right now and it involves my left foot on the bone below my toe. It also sticks out but I'm still not sure if it's actually a bunion that's giving me issues. Maybe I'm in denial!

I thought only OLD ladies got bunions!!

Thanks!

A bunion is a structural deformity of the bones and the joint between the foot and big toe, and may be painful.

A bunion is an enlargement of bone or tissue around the joint at the base of the big toe (metatarsophalangeal joint). The big toe may turn in toward the second toe (angulation), and the tissues surrounding the joint may be swollen and tender.pp  (+ info)
