How can you stop excessive sweating even when cold?

How can you stop excessive underarm sweating without drugs or antiperspirants (which are bad for you)? This happens even it's cold -- it has nothing to do with sweating from being too hot.
----------

Hi Rose. I had this problem. In my case, it was an anxiety problem. My body decided that it would give me underarm perspiration as it's way of dealing with stress since I obviously held it in too much. I would not say that antiperspirants are bad for you unless you have some kind of adverse reaction to them. I did react but if you don't, I would not hesitate to use them. Another option if you are willing to wear them is "Cami-Vee". It absorbs perspiration before it can damage your blouse or dress. Naturally, if this is severely bothersome to you, you should see a doctor but this symptom in itself does not point to any serious disease process. Good luck.  (+ info)

What does sweating do to poison ivy rashes?

I have poison ivy on my arm, and I was told that I shouldn't go to gym at school, because sweating is bad for the rash. I also wanted to know if poison ivy spreads around your body. I've gotten conflicting answers on this.
----------

I think sweating does make it worse and poison ivy might spread. the rash was caused buy you rubbing against the oil of the poison ivy leave which irritated your skin. some people have sensitive skin that react with poison ivy and others aren't affected by it at all.

get some cream to stop any spreading, get it better, and calm any itchiness down.  (+ info)

How do you keep a frozen water bottle from sweating?

I've always wondered about what you would use to keep a regular plastic water bottle from sweating, or condesing ? If you had to keep your water bottle from doing that wouldn't you wrap paper towel around it with foil? Has anyone ever heard of this? How do you do it?
----------

You would want to insulate it. That is, paper towel or regular towel. Not foil. Foil would just conduct heat and get cold. The condensation would just collect on the cold foil instead of the cold plastic.

The point is to keep the air from touching the cold side of the bottle.

If you really wanted to, you could put it inside of a vacuum chamber and suck out all the air. No air touching it means not water vapor in the air to condense on the side of the bottle.

It would also stay very cold for a very long time, as the vacuum would not allow heat to enter the bottle.  (+ info)

What are some simple ways to keep from sweating?

I sweat ALL the time! Is there anything that will help reduce or stop the sweating? I am currently using Secret Clinical Strength Deoderant and it doesn't help at all. I am sweating through every shirt that I own and I am sick of it! Is there any home remodies or deoderant that work really well? I am willing to try ANYTHING!!!! Please help and I will be choosing a best answer!
----------

I had the same problem in high school I got this stuff call certain dri and it really worked. there is a cheaper cvs brand that they used to make but i'm not sure if they still do. The only downside is that the regular strength irritated my skin so I got the sensitive solution and it worked just as well without the irritation. Good luck I know it sucks  (+ info)

How do I stop excessive underarm sweating?

Lately, I've been sweating a lot under my arms. In class, the sweat goes through my shirts and there are huge stains, and they won't go away. I've tried normal deodorant (gel and dry), men's deodorant, and an Antipersperatant. Any suggestions/antipersperatants?
----------

You can use baby powder under your arms. That will help. I found a blog that explains some other things you can do to stop excessive sweating.

I'll leave a link to the blog below.

Is there a medicine for Bipolar that does not cause or exacerbate severe sweating problems?

My daughter had a hysterectomy when she was in her late 20's after having 3 children. She had her gallbladder removed when in her early 30's. She is now 46 years old. She has been miserable from beeing too hot and sweating for over 15 years. She is bypolar/anxiety and has been on most of the meds for the conditions. Can someone help please? I can be freezing and she is clammy with sweat dripping from her face. HELP!
----------

In my experience, a lot of meds exacerbate sweating. Has she talked to her doctor about the sweating? Maybe she should get a second opinion if she isn't getting help from her current doctor? Years ago, I went to my doctor with excessive sweating, and was prescribed a special deodorant (which is now available in the chemist too) And the doctor said if the sweating is really bad, there is an operation they can do to cut the nerve endings and stop the sweating. I am not a doctor and not familiar with your exact situation, but if I were you and your daughter, I would seek other medical advice. Nobody should have to suffer for that amount of time  (+ info)

How come whenever I eat cheddar cheese my face starts sweating immediately?

I eat cheddar cheese every now and then and i love it. But for some reason, whenever I start chewing it, my cheeks start sweating a little bit, and it contines while I eat it. It doesn't make any sense to me and no one I know has an answer for me. WTF
Also, this has happened to me for a good amount of time now, over a year since I first noticed it. It is the only symptom though, which makes it more weird than annoying.
----------

It's an allergic reaction. I have the same problem whenever I eat ketchup or some sauces like sweet and sour sauce.  (+ info)

What can i use on my face to prevent sweating?

I am the type of person that sweats lots, so under my arms I apply Perspirex which works a treat.

I also have awful sweating on my face and wondered if there was something I could use on there that would stop sweating?
----------

There are conventional oral medications for controlling sweating, but again unpleasant side effects may occur and they should be used only for extreme cases. These work by drying bodily secretions, and tend to come with unwanted side-effects such as dry mouth, blurry vision, dizziness and cardiovascular concerns. As a last resort, there are surgical procedures to control perspiration, but they are usually reserved for cases resistant to all other form of treatment.
Natural Remedies

Many people are now turning to natural remedies as a first step towards treating excessive sweating caused by overactive sweat glands. There are a number of natural ingredients that can help reduce sweating and treat some of the underlying causes. Nat mur. helps to reduce excessive sweating and clamminess.

Lupulus as well as Castoreum and Argentum Nitricum help to address sweating, especially when related to nervousness, panic, anxiety, or obsessive thoughts. Lastly the ingredient Syphilinum helps to control fluid levels in the body, while also helping to control body odor which commonly accompanies excessive sweating.
