Is it possible to get sunstroke a day after you have spent a long time in the sun?

Went to a festival over the weekend where it was baking, but felt fine. I tan easily and the sun very very rarely burns me.
However, this afternoon I feel not so great. A little dizzy and very tired.

Can sunstroke have delayed effects?
----------

yes. It's just like a sunburn, somepeople don't feel it until the next day. When you have sunstroke, you need plenty of fluids. May be the day you got the sunstroke you drank lots of water, but today you may not have...hope that makes sense.  (+ info)

Can you get sunstroke the day after being in the sun for ages?

Yesterday it was really hot outside I had to wear two layers and really thick jeans(don't ask why). The heat tends to affect me quite a bit, I usually get headaches from being in the sun too long. I was in the sun for most of the day yesterday and my day involved climbing a lot of steep hills.
Today, I feel really sick and I've had a headache all day. I can't stand anywhere which has the slightest amount of heat. My face keeps going from pale to bright red and I'm getting hot flushes. Is it sunstroke?
----------

It could be sunstroke's after effects, but it also sounds like you're dehydrated. The hot flushes are like chills trying to cool you down. Drink LOTS and LOTS of water right away!  (+ info)

I have a bit of sunstroke and tired muscles. I feel lethargic too. Ideas to boost my metabolism for today?

I spent the day outside and jogged everywhere on Sunday. Now, it's Monday and I am at work. I have a little bit of hyperthermia, (not to be confused with hypothermia) I feel fatigued physically (tired muscles.) and fatigued mentally (I can't hold a conversation with someone or read without getting bored and closing my eyes.)

What happens to someone when they have sunstroke?

I have a very very bad pain in my head, and I feel fairly sick too. I've been out in the sun all day.
----------

Sunstroke makes you feel sick and dizzy. It can cause drowsiness and you may even find yourself passing out, depending on the level of severity.

The most important thing to remember with sunstroke is that, unlike sunburn where the skin will eventually peel off, it can stick around and make you feel really bad, much like an illness...

Im not sure if there's medication for it or anything, but Im sure you doctor or local pharmacist can advice.

To be honest, though, if you think you've got sunstroke and havn't either thrown up or passed out, its probably very mild and will pass in a few days :)

So dont worry :)  (+ info)

how can you prevent heat and sunstroke?

I work outside for 4 hours working on a farm doing waters and what not. Its going to be very warm today and I needed some help on how to prevent heat and sunstroke? There are places with shade and barns to go inside but there not that much cooler but it would give me a little break.
what kind of foods should I bring to eat?
will sunscreen help?
and of course water I'll be bringing plenty of water.

thanks all!
----------

Yes water and sunscreen will help.
Dont drink too much water at once.Take sips every now and not all at once.

Bring light food to eat and not something that will give you a sugar rush because after its over your gonna be very tired.

Take a hat and do not overwork yourself.

Please can you answer my question

What are the first signs of a sunstroke?

I have been working 12+ hour shifts ine 34C/93F weather under the sun for 2 days (I'm a landscaper). I am currently feeling really woosy and my mouth was just doing really weird, exaggerated, and uncontrollabe spasms. I was just wondering if something weird was happening and if this was a sign of heat stroke of if I'm just really tired
----------

From personal experience and experience from my mom's heatstroke, I know that feeling woooohohohooozy is a first symptom, but as far as your mouth doing those weird motionalitistic spasazims, I don't believe that that (double words always confuse the shit outta me, as well as random parenthesis in between sentences) has anything to do with it. That may be caused from your concern about having a sunstroke and psychologically you picking out reasons to fret about having one. For example, when ever you start thinking real hard about having an itch on your body...shit...just like that you start feeling itchies all ova your boday. Another sign would be having a headache or feeling like blowin' chizunks, not chipmunks, but chizunks.
Sheeeiiiiit.
To prevent a heatstroke, drink a lot of fluids (I prefer chocolatey chocolate deliciousness holy shit milk!!). Because a heatstroke is caused by the sun's rays eating away at your body. Kinda like, *chomp chomp chomp*, and your sweat acts as a guard against those fucking things. Kinda like, "Halt motha fucka!" *boom boom boom*
Please drink lots of fluids. I don't want to log on and find that you aren't asking questions due to the fact that the sun swallowed you. I'd kinda be like, "Fuck suns. They eat my friends. Moons are betteeerrrrrrrr!"
I don't think licking your sweat would work though, with hydration. So you don't wanna do that. If I looked out my window and saw a girl doing shrubbery work in my lawn and she started licking her arms 'n' shit, I'd be kinda like, "What the hell kind of generation am I apart of!?!?" Lolzor
Hope this helped! If it didn't, well, then I'd be kinda like, "=(".

has anyone ever been told by a doctor that they are allergic to the sun. Not sunstroke, but actually allergic?

I didn't think it was possible either, but three different doctors have now told me so. I begin vomiting, grow huge hives and am in bed for a few days if I'm out too long. Benedryl helps some, but I want to be outside more and don't know what else to do. I was hoping that maybe someone else had come up with other ideas other than special sun protective, long, thick clothing.

Is vomiting a sign of Sunstroke?

My five year old sister was complaining of headaches earlier, and has just thrown up all over the place. She's often outside, and pretty much never stops for a drink. What's the possibility she could have sunstroke?
