What is a good cheap way to heal a sunburn?

My boyfriend is getting sick from the sunburn he has gained. He doesn't have any good lotion to use, and I also told him to take a cold shower. Is there any special remedies to use to heal a sunburn?

I heard that mayonnaise helps block the sun rays. So i am hoping there is something that can help heal the sunburn.
green tea (arizona ice tea makes a really yummy one) helps get rid of the pain of sunburn, and taking Myloohene or tylenol helps get rid of the pain too.

they don't heal the sunburn, but they make it feel alot less painful.

How long a sunburn lasts depends on the part of the skin involved and the degree of the burn or the severity of the sunburn. Apply cool compresses on the area and take bath with cool(not very cold) water. Do not scrub your skin or shave your skin and use a soft towel and gently pat your skin dry. Also use a sunburn Over-The-Counter remedy containing aloe vera and a light moisturizer or a dusting powder to relieve chafing.You can apply silver sulfadiazine (1% cream) on the skin except face and see if it helps.If the symptoms still persist then you should consult a dermatologist and discuss the option of dermabrasion or laser resurfacing.

UV light is energetic enough to bounce electrons away from molecules in your DNA. When that happens, the configuration of the DNA changes and it cannot replicate. I rarely ever get a sunburn, but i was in the sun today trying to get a tan and my chest is pinkish looking. I am not sure if it is some color that i got that will turn into a tan i can start off with or a mild sunburn. It felt slightly stingy after my shower, but barely. And now, i feel no stinging. I have prom this upcoming Thursday and I realllly don't want to be peely. I am really red from the sunburn right now, but I'm hoping the redness goes away before Thursday. I am just worried about the peeling! If you have and tips or ideas please help!
you should use a very gentle moisturiser (aveno is a good one) that will stop the dry skin peeling off.
The moisturiser will also stop the apperance of flaky skin.

Yes those are blisters. You need to be very, very gentle with them. The first thing you should do is take Tylenol to bring down the swelling and heat. The next thing you need to do is buy a hat with a wide brim so you can be the chicest person on the beach or by the pool. When I attend sports game, I even bring an umbrella even though I have olive skin. I'm not sacrificing my good skin to the sun.  (+ info)

By applying 100% pure coconut oil, (Nui brand). Contrary to popular this coconut oil takes the heat out of any burn. I have used it extensively in the nursing homes on elderly peoples delicat skin with marvellous results.
