snake bites are not ONLY on the lips. That's why it's called tongue snake bites, cus it's on your tongue.

just tell her that biting and ripping piercings is painful and only stupid people would do that and your not stupid. lol...
i don't know why parent are like that. are you getting the ones above the upper lip? cause if so, try to get it high enough so it won't bother your teeth. or the gum line. i have a monroe and it's pretty high up so it doesn't even bother me. its not like we use our whole face to talk you know? lol
if you're getting it on the lower lip, then get it where it won't bother you or your gums. work with the piercer so you get the results you want. why don't you have her come with you when you get it done so she can see that you and the piercer know that it is a serious deal and that everything is done and sanitized by a professional. it's not like you are going behind an alley and doing it with a safety pin right? lol  (+ info)

In the UK all piercings that aren't genital require photo ID to prove you are 16.

Your lip would get more infected, due to the fact that theres germs in your mouth constantly, Buuut, if you get snakebites, carry around mouthwash and clean after everything your drink or eat, and whenever you have the chance, take it out to clean it.  (+ info)

I'm not really sure which section to put this in, please suggest a section to post this in so I can post one in the correct section. I love mountain biking, and I bike very frequently. I live in California, so there are rattlesnakes in the parks I bike in. Last time my brother almost ran over one. What are good ways to make it almost impossible to get bitten by a snake? Can snakes bite through jeans? If I get bitten, what can I do? The nearest road would be a few miles away, and if I bike there my heart will be pumping hard, spreading the poison around. Also, what times of the day are snakes less active? I know they aren't as active in the winter.
I've researched this before, and i remember seeing something that said you can't buy anti-venom without a liscence.
You can just avoid snakes, that's all. Rattlesnakes can bite through shoes and clothes, although obviously you'll be more protected if you have jeans on.

I can't imagine mountain biking in jeans, though.

The best treatment for getting bitten by a snake is to get to an ER as soon as possible. Don't suck the poison out, don't make cuts, don't do anything but get to an ER where you can be given antivenin. If you have to bike or walk, then you have to bike or walk. Sitting out in the wilderness after being snakebit will not help you.

Snakes are cold-blooded and less active during temperature extremes.  (+ info)
