When does morning sickness typically start when you are pregnant?

I am 5 weeks pregnant with my second, and so far have been feeling great. A little tired, but not too bad. With my first I had no morning sickness, just a loss of appetite that lasted my entire pregnancy. I didn't know I was pregnant last time until i was about 6 or 7 weeks (I actually got one period!).
I was just wondering when the pregnancy symptoms usually start?
----------

If you are early in your pregnancy, you may be wondering when the morning sickness starts.

Maybe never. But chances are good you will.

Nausea and vomiting are common symptoms in early pregnancy for many women. Depending on the study, 50 to 75% of pregnant women suffer from morning sickness.

Typically, morning sickness starts before the 6th week of pregnancy and peaks between 8 and 12 weeks.

If morning sickness begins after 9 weeks of gestation, be sure to mention it to your doctor to make sure there are no other causes of nausea or vomiting.

Anyways, when i was pregnant with my son, i didnt get morning sickness until the very end of my first trimester (for some odd reason), and i only got it around 2am... it didnt last a long time, maybe a week or two. Some women might get it with one pregnancy and then not the next  (+ info)

What's a really good hair serum for using a curling iron?

Ones that'll leave your hair just the way it is when you haven't used a curling iron. I won't curl it on a daily basis, and only on the ends. I'll only curl it once a week. Is this okay? And which serum should I use?

Can someone please suggest a very good serum/cream to put into hair prior to straightening?

I have curly/wavy hair. It's not thick or anything. I want to straighten it with my hair straightener. I used a Chi hair serum product before but it was a little too oily and shiny. I'd pretty much prefer a cream based product to put in my hair prior to straightening it. I think I used frizz ease products before but it wasn't all that great. I have very very long hair and the ends are a little dry. Any suggestions please ?
----------

I have the same hair type as you! I use Redken's Smooth Down Heat Glide (along with a chi iron) and it's the one product in my regimen that I could never go without. It gets rid of frizz and makes my hair appear soft, silky and healthy. I put a little extra on my ends and they look so conditioned and smooth. What I love best is that it won't leave your hair looking greasy if you don't wash it for a couple days. Just 2-3 pumps will do and the bottle lasts forever. I've had it for half a year now and it's not even half empty. Do you use a quality flat iron? This is just as important as the products you use. Give it a try and I don't think you'll be disappointed!  (+ info)

What ways lessen the symptoms of motion sickness?

Sometime within the last two months I have been getting terrible car sickness. The nausea and headaches start after about twenty-five minutes of being a passenger in a car. Can a person suddenly develop motion sickness and what remedies work to lessen the symptoms? I get too sick and miserable to ride in a car with others for a long period of time. I am only fine when I am the driver and this is getting very inconvenient for everyone. Thanks for your help.
----------

You could have an inner ear infection and you get distracted when you drive. Could also be odors in the car bother you.

Take a ginger pill before you get in the car. (Maybe a half hour before.) I've had problems with motion sickness on boats. I tried the ginger pill and was on a boat with waves so fierce they were crashing over the bow. I had no problem. And it doesn't make you sleepy. Also drink water, the headaches could be dehydration. So could the nausea.

Most over the counter medicines can work, but they make your sleepy for hours after the trip is done.  (+ info)

What is a serious sickness toddlers can get?

It's for a story. In the story, the main character's 18-month old daughter has to go to hospital for some sickness, not something like cancer but something that would make her pretty sick for between a week to a fortnight. Any ideas what I could write about?

Viral meningitis is a terrible thing to get but most children will recover within a week or two as opposed to the more dangerous bacterial meningitis which can be deadly.  (+ info)

How early can morning sickness start in a pregancy?

My wife for the last 2 days has woken up nauseated. We have a 2 year old, and this is par for the course based on her last time being pregnant. However, we have not taken a test, and her last cycle ended just about 3 weeks ago? Could this be morning sickness?
----------

Yeah, it certainly could be! I started feeling sick at night (I'm 13 weeks and still I get "morning sickness" at night), about 1-1.5 weeks before my period was supposed to start.

I'd recommend waiting about a week and then having her take a test, but it certainly sounds like she might be pregnant! Especially if the nausea is not accompanied by any other symptoms of a stomach bug and if it goes away later in the day.  (+ info)

If I go home during the working day due to sickness will my employers pay me sick pay?

I recently went to work while unwell and had to leave mid afternoon. My employer has said that this is a sickness absence and | will be paid sick pay. I have been told that if you go home during the day for reasons of sickness - as long as you have completed more than two hours - this is not counted as sickness absence. Is this correct?
----------

It depends on what your work policy is.  (+ info)

----------

You are about as far as I am,I am 6 weeks today and I am going through the whole thing with it too..bad at times!

I was told by a nurse at my docotrs office that ginger was a great thing to use ginger snaps and ginger ale and they work but the ginger snaps are freakin nasty they have a bitter taste so you may not like them others around me do but mt taste for everything is all messed up since I am always feeling sick and so everything taste yucky!!

I am going to try the ginger tea since I love tea might taste good with alittle french vanilla cream too better than the ginger snaps! lol  (+ info)
