Blocked salivary gland under right side of chin?

I am pretty sure I have a blocked salivary gland. It started after I ate some bread at a restaurant and a part of the bottom of my mouth gave me sharp pains when I tried to eat. After a couple hours i had a lump under the right side of my chin. Any advice other than to go to a doctor? (Cause I think I will end up going anyway)
----------

Your lymph nodes are active. It doesn't necessarily have to be your gland. The food you ate might have some infection so your lymph nodes might act up. If it doesn't go away within 3-4 days, I recommend that you see a doctor since it would be a indication of dangerous infection.  (+ info)

how much for salivary gland and tumor removal surgery?

my step mom has a tumor on her upper right salivary gland, its not big but they are going to remove it, and her gland, does anyone know approximately how much it would cost for this surgery? thanks
----------

Have you considered medical treatment and surgical help for this in India? My cousin got her surgery from a company called Forerunners Healthcare in India.
She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as all types of medical treatment and surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your medical treatment and surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

how do i unblock my salivary gland?

I kept getting a blocked tube underneath my tongue. I had an operation to remove my submadibular gland. Now, the hole where my saliva comes out keeps getting blocked with a thick snotty substance which i cannot get out. This prevents my spit from coming out the hole which collects, and my neck swells and is painful. Any suggestions on unblocking it?
----------

That thick snotty substance sounds like an allergic reaction,i have that in my throat from a digestive problem and some foods are worse than others, cheese and dairy products are bad for producing the mucus. It,s no good telling you to see your doctor because you are asking on here for help so obviously the doctor like many is no good.Perhaps focus on trying to stop that thick snotty substance that shouldnt be there in the first place  (+ info)

Can acid reflux or indigestion cause salivary gland problems?

If you've got a salivary gland stone do you have an operation to remove it?

If it is quite big and in front of your ear do you have to have it removed with surgery??
----------

My guess would be depending on the size. I had a kidney stone once that passed on it's own, painful!

Some may pass through on their own if small enough.
If to large and cant, then help is needed of either probing to help it pass or minor surgery for removal.

One or more stones sometimes form in one of the salivary glands. A stone can cause a blockage of the flow of saliva which can lead to pain and swelling of the affected salivary gland. The reason why these stones form is not known. Sometimes a stone comes out into the mouth on its own, or with gentle probing. However, in many cases a small procedure is needed to remove the stone.   (+ info)
