Does anyone suffer from Allergic Rhinitis?

Hi there, if anyone suffers from this - does it make your ears ring, sometimes low at times others high!! My ears have been ringing and sinuses blocked for about 3 months, get frequent headaches etc. Have been told to have allergy test etc. Anyone any advice on this?
Thanks so far - did anyone experiance their ears ringing with sinusitous or alergy etc?
----------

your sinuses being blocked could be causing the ear ringing. try taking some sudafed or mucron (UK) that should help them to unblock. btw this would also cause the headaches. I had chronic sinusitis for about three months not long ago and it sounds similar. good luck, I hope your feeling better soon!  (+ info)

What is the most effective anti-allergy medicine for my allergic rhinitis?

There are several like Nasonex or Flonase, like a previous poster said but those never worked for me. I was taking 180mg of allegra a day and they switched me to zyrtec, but it was still only enough to make me not suffer horribly. I went to see a specialist ENT who put me on an entirely different plan. He is having me do a saline flush twice a day (salt water up your nose) and using Rhinocort, which is another nasal spray. I saw such an improvement that I haven't had to take an allergy pill in months.

Mix 1/2 tablespoon of pickling salt (don't use table salt or any other kind, pickling or kosher salt is pure) with 1 pint warm water until dissolved. Then use a ball syringe to suck some up:

Very gently spray it into each side of your nose. It's best to have it pointing slightly outward. If your ears hurt after you do it, you've done it too hard. You will need to blow your nose as it clears out what's there, and then as it dries the salt will dry up more of the mucous in your sinuses. I just mix it once at the beginning of the week in a tupperware and use the salt water throughout the week. Then after your nose has been irrigated and dries, then use the nasal spray. After 3 days you should see a huge difference.  (+ info)

can chocolates trigger allergic rhinitis?

my doctor said that i shouldn't eat chocolates and drink iced tea and softdrinks because of my allergic rhinitis. is that true?
----------

Not that I know of. I've never seen chocolates, iced tea or soft drinks linked to allergic rhinitis.

You should ask your doctor to explain the linkage between the two. There might be some misunderstandings there.  (+ info)

I have really severe allergic rhinitis and i wanted to know how much vitamin c should i take?

im taking at least 1000mg a day i read they sell powdered vitamin c at a vitamin store does that help I read that it's good for allergies
----------

It's not the Vitamin C you need for allergic rhinitis you need, you need an antihistamine for relief from allergy, and a nasal spray to prevent your allergy. You can pick up an antihistamine from your drug store and a nasal spray from your doctors office(prescription item).
Allergy is caused by the protein of the pollen.
Dust mites live under beds, so regular vaccumming is the best.

How long can non-allergic rhinitis last?

Rhinitis, how long can it last. . . i am 17 and have had it for 3 months and it shows no signs of going away or being reduced by medications. I am looking into homopathy and dont know what is causing my allergy, it is not the environment because i vacationed for a month and a half and it did nothing.
----------

It can last a lifetime. My husband has non-allergic rhinitis and his has actually worsened over the years,  (+ info)

is pulling off your nose hair causes allergic rhinitis? any natural cure for allergic rhinitis?

I've been experiencing constant sneezing esp. in the morning. The more I blow my nose the more I sneeze which in turn is followed by a running nose, It's a cycle!
----------

I have heard that pulling out your nose hairs can cause infection. My right nostril might be infected from doing this. This may have led to post-nasal-drip and why I cough constantly. I ought to get it checked out. Anyway, I still pull my nosehair every other day. It appears to grow about 3 times as fast in my right nostril then in my left. But you gotta do something with them right? I know people that have nose hair about a quarter inch long sticking out. Apparently they like having a forest sticking out of their nose. And these are my female friends I'm talking about! I think there is tool that one can insert in ones nostril and its electric. It works like a small upside down weed-wacker. I'd like to get one of these. But I'm a wicked procrastinator and a lazy one at that.  (+ info)

I want to join the French Foreign Legion but have this health problems. My allergies force me to always have a handkerchief available. It doesn't give me other problems, it's just bothering and little attractive. Also, I have exposed roots, less gums than most people my age (27)

What steps can I take to cure/control perennial rhinitis?

Be sure to hoover regularly, in case it's caused by dust mites. Check your diet and see if there is anything that could be causing it.
But, unfortunately, it can be caused by absolutely nothing, as is the case with my fiance. The poor guy wakes up at 3am sneezing for about half an hour. It happens whenever he catches a draft, it's pretty odd.
He got given a steroid spray, which is supposed to help. BUT you've got to use it every day, religiously. If you skip a dose, it'll just go back to being ineffective.  (+ info)

Why do I have a fast heartbeat (85-98 beats/minute) when I have a cold/allergic rhinitis?

I am not taking any medication.
----------

Do you have a fever? A fever will increase your heart rate. Take your pulse after you have been lying down about 15 min., and are relaxed. That will give you a true, resting heart rate. Your heart rate is going to go up anytime your activity increases, that's normal.  (+ info)
