Osteochondritis in Ankle?

I hurt my ankle when I was 6 and developed ocd in my ankle. Has anyone else had this and how do you fix it? Also, I was looking for more information on it.
----------

You will need to be seen by an orthopedic surgeon to get specific treatment options, as the severity of OCD can greatly vary. Sometimes just rest can help, but I think that since your problem has been ongoing you may need arthroscopy to remove any loose fragements. and repair the joint. After that, physical therapy will be necessary in order to restore ankle function. I've included some references, but if you want to search further look for osteochondritis dissecans of the talus.  (+ info)

osteochondritis dissecans talus?

Hello,
Can somebody write me that had or has got this diagnose and how had he/she treated?
Also does somebody know any hospital in Europe that is working with patients that has this kind of diagnose and which one you thing is the best?

PLEASE HELP ME!
I have MRI and also I'm not using that leg (i mean i don't walk on that leg). Also, first time I had it in 2001 and several year after it showed up again, but since 2004 I didn't have it again. But this year it showed up again and I am desperate because I can take it anymore...
Also I know very good what does it means, but I am looking for Hospital for informations, treatment or ...surgery :S
----------

The most important thing to do with this problem is to have the doc point out on an x-ray, or preferably an MRI, exactly what's wrong. The severity of this type of injury covers a wide range, so there are many different treatments that depend on the severity. What works well for one person may be completely inappropriate for another due to differences in the nature of the injury. At one end of the spectrum, people sometimes only need rest for a little while. Sometimes the treatment requires only stretching exercises, wearing a certain type of shoe, or modifying your gait. At the more severe end of the spectrum, docs may need to remove cysts or bony deposits, or graft pieces of bones to reconstruct the joint. At the most extreme end, the joint is sometimes fused. Fusing this joint causes a permanent limp and should be avoided unless the pain is unbearable.  (+ info)

I've had osteochondritis (OCD) since I was 7. I'm still in pain why?

I'm 15 and I got OCD when I was 7. I had 2 surgeries before I was 10 and 1 last year. The first was just to have a look, the 2nd to drill and the 3rd to pin it. I've also had a steroid injection over a month ago as I was still in a lot of pain after my last operation. It hasn't helped. None of them have. Anyone got any ideas why? or what could help?
Same but google says it can be Obsessive-compulsive disorder or osteochondritis. Also as I'm now 15 its not JOCD(junior osteochondritis) Does that make a difference?

osteochondritis dissecans ankle?

Okay, Ive had surgery on my ankle earlier this year, the Dr didn't guarantee it to be a success, all they did was drill holes in to my ankle hoping for the fragment to reattach its self. now 5 month after haveing the surgery i got another MRI, the Dr after looking at it suggests to operate my ankle again, but the thing is he isnt sure what he going to do yet until he actually goes in. he says he can do one of two things, drill some more but go deeper this time, or do a bone graph. Should i get a second opinion? can anyone tell me from experience what has worked for them? should i even get other surgery?
my ankle still hurts from time to time.

After surgery for Osteochondritis Dissecans, why my knee keeps hurting?

I had a lose part in my left knee for about 2 months. I could feel it, and twice my knee started hurting, which made walking impossible for me, because of sharp pain, when i started extending my leg. I lived with it, while on disability, so the rest worked pretty good for me, I had no pain nothing. After 2 months however my knee locked and did not come back to the normal state after a day, like it did twice before. Doctor sent me for a surgery. I had a loose part of Cartilage removed from my knee, and now that part is missing. I'm 4 weeks after surgery, and last week I had a sharp pain just like before the surgery. I could not extend my leg, exactly how it was before surgery. After a night sleep, next morning I woke up and everything was fine. I went however to the doctor to check it, and he sent me for physical therapy. He said, since I'm missing part of my Cartilage, therefore I will be expecting pains like that. Now it after I squated, the pain is back. I cant walk, nor extend the knee, nothing except bending it. What can I do in this case. I thought surgery was gonna help, but I start to notice that horrible experience of the surgery was pointless. I'm going back to work on Monday, but I really dont wanna experience a pain like this while there. What can I do now to stop the pain?

had osteochonditis dissecans in my knee years ago surgery was done, when i go up steps knee making noise why?

It is making a couple popping noises......when i go up steps. the surgery i had done was a long time ago for osteochondritis dissecans. does anyone know why my knee is doing this?
----------

Popping is usually air being pushed out of the joints ..(just like when you crack your knuckles .. Grinding sounds are usually caused by the protective layer of cartilage being worn down and bone on bone grinding together ..
There are some treatments that can be used such as injections or implants if you qualify for them  (+ info)

knee popping with pain while standing up after kneeling.?

I had a pop(best way I can describe it), and it hurt quite a bit. It was definitely on the inside of my knee, towards the left side of my left leg. I haven't had any pain or trauma in that leg before.

I did have surgery in my other knee for osteochondritis dessicans and I'm afraid it might be the same problem, although that knee never popped.
----------

Go get it checked out. At worst it could be a meniscus or ligament problem. Only to know for sure is to let them check it out.  (+ info)

Do exercises to strengthen you quads. Those are the muscle that hold the kneecap in place. They should help.  (+ info)
