Is Dead Sea good for a person with Geant Nevus ?

Sorry, my english is not very good but I need help
I am looking for a medecin from Israel or whereever he/she is ( dermathology ) to know if Dead sea´s water is good for treatement of a geant Nevus. My daughter has a nevus over 80% of the skin, she has 3 months.
From Basque Country, THANKS

I am afraid it will have no effect at all.In the few weeks I have been answering 'Health Answers' I have had my eyes really opened. I had no idea that such a high percentage of the population are so naive as to believe in the myths, potty patent medicines, illegal drugs, illegally purchased prescription only drugs, charlatans and just plain crooks, purporting or pretending that they can fix them.

No topical preparation will influence this lesion at all. See this site :http://www.familyvillage.wisc.edu/Lib_nevi.htm

Please do not allow yourself to be conned out of any money. There are no magic or alternative cures here excision is the only treatment option, this can be done in stages.

Please arrange a specialist consultation best of luck Ecureuil and best wishes.  (+ info)

Does anyone have any information about treatment for linear epidermal nevus?

Therapy is often challenging.

EN are usually resistant to topical and intralesional steroids, dithranol, topical retinoids, and cryosurgery.
Topical calcipotriol may be effective. In the United States, calcipotriol is not approved for children younger than 12 years.
For Schimmelpenning syndrome, antiepileptic medications (if needed) should be promptly considered.

Surgical Care
If the size and the site are suitable, the nevus may be excised if desired by the patient.

Consultations
For NC syndrome, if an associated cataract is present, consult an ophthalmologist for therapy  (+ info)

I have 3 "Nevus"s in my left eye in the white part. They are not dark, but light grey?

The last time I went to an optician was in March for a vision test. He told me to come back in September. But now I realized I have these Nevuses in my left eye. Should I go to the doctor again? If they are dangerous, how often should I check them? I have thin red lines on the white part, too. Can someone tell me what is going on? Thanks in advance.

How to call it? Mole? Nevus? Birthmark?

I am not good in English. What is a correct word for a dack spot on a body. It can be out of skin surface? Some people have a lot of them. I called it "mole" but I just have realized that "mole" it is something caused by infection. So, it means that I have to use another word.

hmm... I have a mole on my face. I was born with it. But what you are thinking about is probably a birthmark.

Does anyone have a child with a birthmark called a "Nevus"?

My son was born almost 3 months early, with a collapsed lung and a large nevus that covers his whole right arm and hand. It also has very little muscle which makes it really small and skinny. I was wondering if anyone knows about these types of birthmarks. If so please tell me about them or if you have a child with this type, how you deal with it and how to keep others from teasing him. He did start school this year. Thanks
----------

"Nevus" is not a specific term. A normal mole is a nevus; but then, there are also other "nevi" which don't contain "mole cells", such as an "epidermal nevus". And, both types of nevi can be present at birth, and be called birthmarks. So, we'd really have to know whether your son has an epidermal nevus or a "nevus-cell nevus", before we'd really know about the potential for other problems and the likelihood of successful removal (or even the medical necessity for a removal). The fact that your son has other defects probably indicates that he has an epidermal nevus and not a nevus-cell nevus. Have you consulted a pediatric dermatologist about the lesion? If not, it might be in his best interest to do so.  (+ info)

Choroidal nevus? i have one and i really want to get it removed soon but..?

im not sure if the surgery will be dangerous since it is on my eye..has anyone ever gone through this surgery before or know anything about it? I am planning to ask my eye doctor but im just curious..
----------

Well, by your question it is unclear whether you have already had it evaluated or not.

I say this because in the majority of cases, choroidal nevi are benign/harmless and don't require any treatment. Your ophthalmologist will document the size, shape, etc. and simply monitor it for any changes. Rarely, do they require biopsy/surgery.  (+ info)
