what is the causes of myoma andhow it start?

Myomas are uterine fibroid tumors caused by too much estrogen relative to progesterone in your body. Estrogen, in general, tells your body cells to proliferate. Progesterone tells your body cells to slow down. Progesterone says that your cells should mature and NOT reproduce. It is a tug of war between estrogen and progesterone. If estrogen wins then you get uterine fibroid tumors ( myomas ). The solution is to take Natural Progesterone and cut out Estrogen in your environment.
Synthetic chemicals in our foods, body lotions, laundry detergent, and some foods in our environment mimic estrogens that encourage uterine fibroid tumors ( myomas ). The solution to getting rid of myomas is to get rid of the estrogen in your life and take natural progesterone to oppose the estrogen in your life.  (+ info)

Is surgery necessary on a menopausal 53-year old woman with a football-sized myoma?

Asian. No pains experienced. No discomforts. Just a big tummy. Are there dangerous complications if unoperated on?
No bleeding.
Myoma is the same as FIBROID.
----------

Surgery is never really necessary if you are happy with the alternatives.

There are dangerous complications IF OPERATED on. There may be dangerous complications if not operated on.

If you do nothing - possible consequences depend on where the myoma is and if it is truly benign.

It can cause compression from the size - compressing abdomen isn't such a bad thing usually because everything can squash over here and there, but compressing the chest is bad - you might not be able to pump blood with the heart, and you may have difficulties with breathing if it gets this big.

A myoma can tort. It can twist about and if it cuts off its own blood supply, that might not be so bad. It would die - and sometimes this can be very painful and make the patient very sick because of the inflammatory chemicals that go about the body when this happens. If it twists about and gathers stuff up, anything could happen depending on what is twisted up with it (this is a very unlikely occurrence) - eg. bowel - bowel obstruction, blood vessels - ischaemia to whatever the blood vessels were supplying ...

Talk with the doctors and ask them what might happen if you didn't have the surgery.

Also you could consider delaying the surgery.

Generally surgeons like to operate on people who are healthy and the risk of delaying the surgery and getting it done later is that the patient might be unwell at the time and it might be an emergency procedure then. This is much more stressful for the surgeons, the anaesthetists, and for the patient. The patient is more likely to die from a complication of the surgery is an emergency surgery than if it is a planned and booked procedure.  (+ info)

What's a urinary myoma, does it need surgical operation?, or you can ignore it?

Does urinary myoma heals?. Why and how some women have it?
----------

A myoma is a tumor. Now this doesn't mean its malignant.

Myomas are tumor derived from muscle tissue. Most tumors continue to grow and push on surrounding structures. If I was offered the opportunity to have surgery to remove it I would definitely do it. If your doctor doesn't think you need surgery, at least never forget its there and have it checked on from time to time.  (+ info)
