What disease makes a person constantly tired and have a constant sore throat?

Hi about a month ago I had a really bad illness. I had a high fever, aches everywhere and was just very cold. All those syptoms vanishes after having Antibiotic for a good three days but soon after I had this feeling of being generally tired and seeming to yawn very frequently. And every morning I wake up with a sore throat, but it usually goes away in about an hour after waking up. I was wondering if there is a disease that has these certain symptoms? thanks.
----------

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome seems like it fits your description pretty well: extreme tiredness is the main symptom, but sleep issues and problems with concentrating are also common complaints. CFS may also cause headaches, muscle and joint pains, a sore throat, or swollen glands.

Doctors have not determined a specific cause, but CFS may begin after another illness (such as the flu). Treatment is still trial and error based and I'm not a doctor so make sure you check in with your own physician before making any decisions. Good Luck.  (+ info)

What's the difference between addiction and disease?

Specifically, I’m talking about alcohol and drugs. An alcoholic is said to have a disease. People who have problems with illicit drugs like cocaine, marijuana, heroin, etc, and even legal drugs like pain killers are said to be addicts. What’s the difference? Isn’t alcoholism a form of chemical dependency (addiction). Why is illicit drug dependency not seen as a disease? Is the difference because alcohol is socially acceptable? I submit that an alcoholic is an addict and not necessarily diseased, though liver disease may be present or coming.
Ok! I know that with a disease you have no choice. Since to drink alcohol or not is a choice WHY IS ALCOHOLISM A DISEASE? and drug abuse is not?
I know the reasons for substance abuse, no matter the substance. But WHY IS ALCHOLISM A DISEASE? while drug addiction is not?
Ok, a disease can be treated with medications or surgery. There are medications to help stop smoking and to help stop drinking and to help stop drug abuse. But you don't answer the question WHY IS ALCOHOL ABUSE A DISEASE WHILE DRUG ABUSE IS NOT? or WHY IS DRUB ABUSE AN ADDICTION AND ALCOHOL ABUSE IS A DISEASE?
----------

Terry, be patient with me, I am getting to my point in all caps below but I wanted to put some of this other info in also that I researched.

If alcoholism is a disease (and it classified as a disease as you know), it must be a mental illness. The mentally ill often deny they are ill and the first identification of a mental illness is often when others notice that the afflicted person is behaving in unconventional, bizarre or self-destructive ways.

Like other mental illnesses, there is no blood or urine test for alcoholism. There is no physical marker the healer can look for to identify the disease. All the signs are behavioral.

There are blood and urine tests for other drugs. I can't find anything where there is something in alcohol that causes you to become addicted like say cocaine or nicotine, etc. Wow, the more I search the more unanswered questions!

MAYBE IT IS BECAUSE THEY CANNOT PIN POINT WHAT THE ADDICITON FACTOR ITSELF IS (OR WHAT CHEMICAL CAUSES THE ADDICTION) WITHIN THE ALCOHOL SO THEY CALL IT A DISEASE??? AND THEY CAN PIN POINT WHAT THE ADDICTION FACTORS (OR WHAT CHEMICAL THAT CAUSES THE ADDICTION) WITH OTHER DRUGS LIKE COCAINE, HEROIN, NICOTINE ETC, SO THEY CALL THAT AN ADDICITON AND NOT A DISEASE???? This is my personal opinion, I cannot find any information to back this up, but to me it makes some sense.

It is a disease because it has been declared to be so by the very ones who profess to have the cure for the disease. Actually, they don’t have a “cure.” They have a remedy.

Again, not a black and white answer, I wish I knew definitely for sure also. Oh well, I/we tried.

What disease can humans catch from kittens that causes diarrhea?

I just bought kittens a couple of days ago. They're really unhealthy. They both have diarrhea, they're very skinny, and they refused to eat today. Anyway, since I bought them I've had diarrhea and I'm really thinking it may be from them. What kind of contagious disease could this be?

What disease causes the body to quit producing vitamin B resulting in blood clots on the lungs?

Blood clots on lungs and the body is not producing vitamin B. I can't recall the disease but heard of it. Any ideas?
----------

A lack or a deficiency of Vit B 6 may be related to seizures, chronic pain, depression, headaches and, Parkinsons's Disease.
Basically, a deficiency of Vitamin B6, folic acid or, Vitamin B 12 may increase your level of homocysteine, an amino acid normally found in your blood.
An increase in homocysteine is an independent risk factor for heart disease & stroke. High levels may damage coronary ( heart) arteries or make it easier for ** blood clotting cells( platelets) to clump together & form a clot.
Here are two websites that are quite informative:

I hope that this info is helpful.
As far as any specific disorder ( or a disease name) that causes blood clots on the lungs due to a lack of " vitamin B ", I'm uncertain as to such a known, specific disorder.  (+ info)

What congenital disease causes organs not to be attached to the body?

This baby was born (alive) with its internal organs not attached/anchored inside its body. These organs had in utero migrated up into the chest cavity, leaving the baby with underdeveloped lungs and heart and requiring extensive surgeries immediately after delivery to attach the organs in their proper places. Subsequently the organs detached themselves again and more surgeries were required. This child has finally died at six months of age after the organs again detached. Can someone please let me know the name of this disease, which causes such a tragic outcome? Thank you for your time!
----------

Diaphragmatic hernia A failure of the diaphragm to form completely, leaving a hole. Abdominal organs can protrude through the hole into the chest cavity and interfere with development of the heart and lungs. Usually life-threatening and requires emergent surgery.

What is the best way to counteract an autoimmune disease?

I used to have Grave's disease, which is autoimmune, until I had my thyroid gland removed. Now, I believe I have rheumatoid arthritis, which is also an autoimmune disease. Is there some way that I can build up my body so that it doesn't attack itself? What would be the best diet and/or supplements to get rid of an autoimmune disease? My husband also has an autoimmune disease, so we are both very interested in finding the answers. Thanks!
----------

My sister has rheumatoid arthritis and my nephew was born with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis. The dr.s said my nephew would either be almost healed or he would be dead by 17 and that alot could depend on his diet and life style. My sister took him to a kinesiologist (don't know how to spell it but that's what it sounds like) which is a vitamin and mineral specialist. He is now 14 and the only problem he seems to have is the arthritic pain in his knees. He gets sick maybe once every 2 - 3 years and has never gotten seriously ill. My sisters arthritis in her fingers seem to be her only issue and she never gets sick I can not remember the vitamins that my sister has them on but they definitely work. If you would like to email me I will ask my sister for you and let you know which vitamins they both take. AND DRINK A LOT OF WATER!! It is super important  (+ info)
