Is Fibromalygia a connective tissue disease?

I have had FMS since 1982 and I personally think it is a brain disorder, possibly viral in origin and affecting the hypothalamus - the gland which controls many functions of the body such as sleep cycle, temperature regulation, hormones, etc. The pain we feel is in the connective tissue, which may have something to do with a lack of oxygen in the cells and body tissue. Fibromyalgia is such a puzzling illness - research is still in its infancy. I have a lot of fascinating information on my site at www.fms-help.com from the compassionate viewpoint of a fellow sufferer, and also 100 tips for coping - things I've learned from having this for 25 years.  (+ info)

what is latest treatment for mixed connective tissue deasease?

a yearly test to see if your illness has progressed into lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Treatment of symptoms--medicine for pain, muscle relaxers, medicine for depression if needed, sleep and rest as much as possible. That's all I know of. Most doctors look at you like you are crazy but a rheumatologist understands.  (+ info)

Depression or my connective tissue disease?

Okay so I had my son about 6 months ago. A couple of months ago after a friend of mine passed away I got depressed. At the time I was just really tired, miserable, unhappy, wanted to stay in bed, and so on. For the past month, I'm happy, don't feel like I'm depressed at all. But yet I'm having severe memory problems, aches, pains, will be talking then studder then everything goes black, it's just nothing, when everything comes back I have no idea what I was talking about nothing, and everyone looks at me like I'm crazy. I'll be driving and just losing time, not sure I have gotten one place to another. I have an underlying connective tissue disease, but they can't pinpoint which one I have. I was wondering if this would be depression related, or if it's just my connective tissue disease. I mean I feel happy, I want to do things, I love being with my two children. Any ideas? I have an appointment monday, so we'll see then, but was curious in the mean time. Also I was wondering how bad memory loss can be with depression?

just like any other injury to the skin!! have that spot be clean!! i normally put hydrogen peroxide or neosporin on my cuts & scrapes, but the peroxide hurts, so maybe adding a dap of neosporin might help. it doesn't sting at all!!
