OMG I have bad foot pain mostly in my heels.?

THIS STARTED ALMOST 7MONTHS AGO. WHEN I WAS A HIGHLIFT DRIVER IN A COLD FOOD WEARHOUSE AND WORK 11 HOUR DAYS I'AM THINKING IT HAD SOMETHING TO DO W/ THE COLD AND STEPING UP AND DOWN OFF THE EQUIPMENT. SO I CHANGED DETPARTMENTS NOW I ONLY WORK 8 HOUR DAYS AND IT'S ALL WALKING OR STANDING. FEW PEOPLE TOLD ME MAYBE I BRUISED THE BOTTOM OF MY FEET AND TO TAKE ALIEVE. THIS DOSE HELP. BUT AFTER 7 MONTHS I'AM REALLY GETTING TIRED OF IT. SOMEDAYS ARE'NT BAD SOMEDAYS I COULD CRY. THE PAIN IS IN MY HEELS AND HURTS THE MOST WHEN JUST STANDING OR AFTER SITTING DOWN FOR FEW MINS AND I GET UP, I ALMOST CAN'T WALK. FEW OTHER PEOPLE SAID MAYBE IT'S PLANTAR FASCITIS OR METATARSALGIA ANYONE NO WHAT THAT IS? CAN IT BE TREATED AT HOME? I NO I NEED TO GO TO DR. BUT MY INSURANCE SUCKS. PLEASE CAN YOU HELP ME. THANKS
----------

I have heel spurs and plantar fasciitis, and that's exactly what it feels like. My podiatrist had me take ibuprofen for the inflammation, ice my feet for 15 minutes at a time every hour or two during the evening (frozen peas work great for this), and do stretching exercises.

Buy a yoga strap or a long belt. Put the belft under the ball of your feet and stretch the toes backward until you feel the stretch and it almost hurts and hold it for 30 seconds. Relax and repeat again 10 times. Repeat for the other foot.

I didn't need surgery after doing this. Also get some really good insoles for your shoes. I have custom orthotics, but I find Dr. Scholl's gel insoles more comfortable. Plenty of arch support is also important.

Good luck. I know how painful this is for you.  (+ info)

Huge foot problem/pain...?

I believe it's metatarsalgia, (for what I've read)
The ball of my left foot has the feeling like i want to crack it, but no matter how I twist, push or put pressure on my foot (which naturally would make my foot feel better) it doesnt work.
The thing is, I've had this pain since about March last year.
What can I do to relieve the pain? I've tried buying new shoes, shoe insoles, etc..

Perhaps you should see a foot doctor and I am sure he will be able to help you .  (+ info)

The ball of my right foot is swollen... If I ice it, take Ibuprofen, and elevate my foot, will it subside?

I am not a runner or cyclist and I'm not overweight and I don't smoke, drink or do illegal substances. The other day, the ball of my right foot swelled up and it's painful to walk on it and my other toes. I read that this condition is called Metatarsalgia. It subsides when I ice it, elevate it, after a night's rest, and when I take Ibuprofen. I'm not big on doctors and I don't have insurance, right now. So, will it subside if I continue to ice it, rest/elevate it, and take Ibuprofen appropriately? Or will I eventually have to go to the doctor? I just had a check up and all is in order.

Anyone ever heard of "bilateral morton's neuroma"???? Sorry this is a long one.....?

I was diagnosed that almost a year ago and now I see a different doctor at the same practice and he is telling me that in all his 26 years of being a podiatrist that he has never seen anyone with that diagnosis. I was fine up until a week ago when they gave me a shot of lidocaine (just to numb them) so they could make sure they were going in the correct spot for surgery and now the pain is 10 times worse(never had pain like this before). So my regular doctor isnt in and I see this other guy who tells me that I just have metatarsalgia? Anyone who can tell me anything I would be grateful.

I had a Morton's neuroma removed about 10 years ago. It was very painful!! After the surgery I healed well, & have never had any more problems with it. I think I would seek another independent opinion from a podiatrist outside the practice you usually patronize. It almost sounds like the 2 of them are involved in a "I'm right, you're wrong" battle. An independent opinion should give you a better idea of what's going on..  (+ info)

Issac's Syndrome?

I am a 34 yr. old female - I've had 3 back surgeries so far, one being a fusion at L4/L5. Since the fusion I've had increasing pain and moblie disability. I have numbness in right foot, along with muscle weakness and cramping. I've developed feet problems as well. The right one is now flat and the left has developed metatarsalgia in the 2nd and 3rd toes. This has been a nightmare! Lately (for about a year) I have constant nerve activity in both legs. I have the neuropathic pain in the right foot - as always, but now I can feel vibrating, movement, twitching, crawling - weird sensations. I am not compelled to to move my legs - so I think restless leg syndrome is out. I've research some on Issac's Syndrome and I have all of the symptoms. The problem? The doctor's whom I've dealt with during all this - don't believe me. I've had 2 recent MRI's and my docs say they see nothing. I keep getting worse despite what they say.. or believe. I just need suggestions - or anything. I'm so sick of it

Most people who have back surgery are worse off than they were before having the surgery. They probably damaged one of your nerves. I would make an appointment with a Neurologist who can check the nerves to see which ones are causing the problems, just make sure he isn't associated with your Doctors who did the surgery, even if you have to go to another Hospital. If all else fails, then try the art of Acupuncture, they'll take care of it. You might also want to get a second opinion from another Surgeon. I wish for you the very best young lady, and I hope you find relief soon. Nothing worse than living in pain.  (+ info)

I think I have Metatarsalgia?

I have a pain in the ball of my foot. Specifically right behind my big toe. how can I relieve my pain without going to see a specialist?
----------

I really think you SHOULD see a foot specialist (podiatrist). After all, attention to one's FEET is not personally invasive, potentially embarrassing, degrading or any of the things that might keep a person from seeking medical attention for problems within other parts of their body.
It will probably go away with time - in the past, I've had similar problems come and go on their own - but what if it doesn't?

You might try DMSO. It is NOT available through doctors or conventional medicine. My late boyfriend swore it was the ONLY thing that helped the arthritis in his hands. He used to buy it from a veterinary supply place, but I found it cheaper on-line. (It costs about $25 for 4 roll-on dispensers that are about the size of a roll-on deodorant dispenser and look about the same.)
Apparently, Yahoo Answers won't let me post an answer containing a website address - at least it has refused to put through my responses every time I have done this recently. So just log onto any search engine and type in "DMSO" and it will give you several websites. (I used the one with those initials followed by the standard "dot com".)  (+ info)
