Could I have a Meningioma?

I have severe, frequent migranes, and alot of pressure in my head. I often get dizzy, and my eyesite goes black for a few seconds. i have always had pretty good eyesite, but for about the past year, i have noticed that my eyes go blurry after a few seconds of looking at something. I have been depressed, somewhat bipolar. i am tired all the time. i have no energy at all. i recently read about a meningioma, which is a brain tumor, and i have some of the same systems. Am i paranoid? or could i really have a tumor? I have kind of had a "gut feeling" that i have one, but could i really? I have no insurance at all, and i cant go to the doctor because i cant afford it.
----------

FIrst step is to either find a clinic or get low cost health insurance through your local welfare office (even if you're employed).
Next step is to have an MRI to check your brain out.
Final step is to find out if there is anything to truly be worried about or not.....DON'T worry a minute sooner. The MRI will be able to rule out any kind of tumor, cancer, cyst and even underlying auto-immune or demylinating disorders...all of which can be completely stabilized with meds or other coarses of therapy.
Good luck and I hope your doctor is cute! hehehehe  (+ info)

MENINGIOMA, so what can I expect now that I've been officially diagnosed with the thing?

Stay on top of it! Have you seen a neurologist? A neurosurgeon? How big is it? Is it causing symptoms?
If it is small and causing no symptoms, the normal is "watch and wait" with an MRI every few months to be sure it isn't growing. But, if it is causing symptoms (which the medical professionals frequently phoo-phoo) work towards having it surgically removed.
These things are like 95% benign ... but those of us that have them consider "benign" to be a misnomer because they can definitely have a big impact on our lives.
Follow through on the medical appointments - and get two or three opinions by sending your MRI to different neurosurgeons.  (+ info)

what is recovering from a meningioma brain tumor like?

It was easier than I expected, I missed 19 days of work and was back to regular duty in a few months. I suffered two seizures about three months after surgery, and another a year later, they were, I think brought on by stress. That was 21 years ago and have not had one since. The tumor did return 10 years after the first one but that was removed by Gamma Knife surgery and since I have no signs of any recurrence, I have an MRI every 5 years and show no signs of any tumor. I will be happy to answer any questions you might have.  (+ info)

what problem can a frontal lobe meningioma cause?

my aunt was diagnosed with a frontal lobe meningioma about 9-12 months ago.the doctors said they weren't going to operate just gonna keep a watch on it.not to long after that she could not keep her head held up.like her head just fell forward.then alot of pain started in the back and side of her neck.and now one of her eyes kind of looks up .im wondering if this type of tumor can cause all these problems...THANKS FOR THE HELP!!!!!
----------

Yes, it can. Meningiomas are "usually" non-cancerous about 90% of the time. They can also be cancerous as well, about 10% of the time. The location you are referring to could cause pressure on the part of the brain that controls memory, so she may have trouble remembering things or as the meningioma expands in size, it can also cause symptoms similar to a stroke...loss of control of bodily functions on the side of the body affected by it, or loss of coordination. This can include the loss of mucles control of the head and neck that you are describing.

The growth of the meningioma will increase pressure inside the cranium because the brain is encased inside a small space that just fits it perfectly. If something else (like a meningioma tumor) is intriduced, it reduces the amount of space the brain can occupy and therefore puts pressure on it.

My mother had a meningioma in the brain at the age of 86. She ultimately died of a massive hemorrhage in that same location of the brain abouit 6 months after diagnosis.  (+ info)

In homeopathy the best way to prescribe and treat is by the exact symptoms the patient tells you. How and what the sick person exactly feels is how homeopathy goes about treating and curing him. So it would be lots better if the patient gives his or her details in their own words not the pathological diagnosis of the doctor.
Keep us informed about the progress and conditions of the patient on regular basis if you decide to take this prescription.
