Well usually to fix a malocclusion orthodontic treatment is followed, your dentist probably knows what he is doing, you can ask him/her about your teeth and if extracting another pair is necessairy. So its always good to ask questions , good luck! (

From that picture, it looks like you have a class 3 with severe crowding. You are probably looking at 3 years and possible surgery. But do it while you are young. Don't wait. It will only take longer and be more complicated when you are older. (

Malocclusions are what braces correct - the term literally means 'bad bite', and is used to refer to any set-up of teeth that is different from the ideal. Braces straighten teeth and bring them as close to the ideal as possible (very few people have perfect teeth, or no malocclusion - almost everybody has something out of line, even if it's just by a couple of millimetres). So the fact is, right now you probably have a worse malocclusion, and after braces, you'll have a smaller one :) (
