help..swelling of lymph gland, undergone montoux test....!!?

I have been having this swollen lymph gland a little above my collar bone. It doesnt hurt, and I went to a doctor who has suggested some tests on me, the results of which are:

Mantoux test: +ve (induration of 30 mm transverse diameter)
cytopathology report from the specimen, diagnosis: features are consistent with Granulomatous lymphadenitis, possibly of Koch's aetiology.

Otherise, i am perfectly healthy with no other health issues.
All my other tests are fine including blood report, chest, thyroid, LFT, urine sample, ultrasound and my ESR is 05mm/ 1st hr.
Please help...what do these results suggest...is there a way i can be treated for this swelling...and is this a case of tb?
----------

Your physician should have given you the diagnosis of TB which does not always involve the lungs and if for some reason the physician thinks that it is not TB then they must come up with another disease. Koch is the German who 1st identified TB and granulomatous is the nature of the 'lesions' that arise from TB independent of where they appear and again the lungs may be most familiar to you by TB may infect any part of the body. Based upon the above you must definitely be treated so if your physician is not able to figure this out seek a 2nd opinion.  (+ info)

Could my bad belly ache = appendicitis?

Right so I can't get to sleep because i have this undescribable and unbearable pain in my lower right part of my belly. The side of my right hip is swollen and my belly hs ballooned. I have done this symptom checker, on a decent website (www.mayoclinic.com) and the two conditions that i had all the symptoms of, were appendicitis and Mesenteric lymphadenitis. My symptoms are: Fever, Constipation, Nausea (no vomiting but constantly feeling like i am going to vomit), Swollen tummy, The pain is sudden and bad, It hurts lots when i cough and its made better by changing my position.
Which sounds more likely? Appendicitis or Mesenteric lymphadenitis?
I could really do with help from someone who has experience and had same symptoms or someone who is trained in medicine. Thank you.

Sharp stabbing stomach pain?

I have really bad sharp stabbing pain in my lower abdomen, this has happened before but I don't know what it could be. I am lying down because that is the only position where it doesn't hurt. I had to go to pee so i went, thinking that my stomach might feel better but it started feeling worse. and also when i walk i have to hunch over, because when i stand up straight it feels like a knife is being slashed across my lower stomach. Well, not that much. It feels like a dull knife is being stabbed in my lower stomach. I woke up with this stomach pain, actually I had it during a dream and that's why I woke up and then I tried to get up and the pain got worse. Please Please help??
I also have acute mesenteric lymphadenitis, where my lymph nodes get inflamed and my stomach hurts, but that pain in my stomach is on the right lower, and its a dull pain and not stabbing, so this isn't because of that. HELP!!

Any pain that's bad enough to have you doubled over like that cannot be ignored. Please go to the ER right away. It could be your appendix or gallbladder or something else. Some of these possibilities are life-threatening if left untreated, but easily treated if you just get yourself to a doctor.  (+ info)

i m 25 yr and m pregnant for almost 6 months. i did have my blood checked before two months n my ESR was 40.?

i had my biopsy report for minor operation on my neck and the result showed that i'm suffering from tuberculosis lymphadenitis and i have complete 2 months of taking medicine. after that i again did blood testing and ESR has increased to 56. does that indicate something?. recently m having pain on back of my neck. i have consulted the doctor and its not fruitful. m worried...pls give me ur kind advice and suggestions and ur favor will be highly appreciated.
thank

The increase of ESR demonstrates the inflammation presence and / or destruction of fabrics. The test is not specific, and therefore, it doesn't stop the diagnosis of any illness or lesion of organs.  (+ info)

I have swelling in my neck please help!!! 30 Points for cure!!!!?

ok so I have this swelling in my neck for the past 2 months. It's under my chin on the right side the size of a small bouncing ball. It happened after I pulled out a tooth (canine tooth I think) and the swelling started. It was hard at first then I got some medicine (augmentin 625) to soften it and reduce the size.

That happened and the doctor took a sample of the of the liquid inside with a syringe to send it for testing. The test returned as "necrotizing lymphadenitis" the doctor said it was infected and I had to go for a surgery to remove the puss and infection. The incision will stay open for the rest of my life. no stitches just some dressing.

The doctor also said that my lymph node was infected but I doubt that because the lymph node is on the side the neck. Please help me, any cure that doesn't require surgery or other painful application will get 10 points plus an additional 20 points (I will post 2 add. questions and the best answerer to this question will get links to my other questions by email and all he/she has to do is give an answer and I'll select it as 'best answer' no matter what.) Please help me my life is at stake here.

Hello!

Firstly, there are many nodes under the chin because face has lots of blood and lymph vessels and anything that appears on the face, for example an acne, can produce a reaction of lymph node(s)under chin.

Go to another surgeon an ask if they can do your surgery laproscopically, instead of pulling out the lymph node. A laproscopic surgery is when the put a small incision into the side of your neck and work a small, thin, flexible tube up to the enlarged lymph node. The tube then has a lazer or scalpel and will pull out the lymph node on piece at a time, leaving only a small scar where the incision was. Of course, they would have to drain the node first with a syringe, but that seems to be the least of your problems.

I am confused as to why they wouldn't be able to close the incision. That seems wrong to me. Go get a second opinion and suggest what I posted above. It could help.

Best of wishes,
Andrew G.  (+ info)

Do I need to return to the ER?

On friday evening my PCP sent me to the ER were I was diagnosed with Lymphadenitis. I was given an IV with antibiotics, morphine, fever reducer and a muscle relaxer. I was fine on Saturday and took all the medicine as directed. Sunday and today, my fever returned, the stiffness in the neck and the pain as well. I am continuing to use the medicine as directed but am not getting any relief from the pain or fever. I scheduled an appointment with my PCP but as they couldn't treat or diagnosis my illness the first time, I am wondering if I should return to the ER or go to the PCP. Now the Er Dr did say if I wasn't getting better, I should return to the ER. Would 4 days of antibiotics start working yet as I was only given 7 pills?

You can call the ER desk and ask them these same questions - they may tell you to come in so be prepared. Good luck!  (+ info)
