I had just had a xray on my neck and shoulders in the report it states "loss of the normal lordosis"?

The reason for the x-ray is due to pain in the neck and back of head..
What does this mean??? Any advise will be helpful
in the cervical spine

It means you don't have the normal curvature in your c-spine - meaning it's straighter than normal.  (+ info)

I have lordosis in my.Which elliptical cross trainer would help me most? Do I really need adjustable incline?

Lordosis is inward curvature of the spine. The cross trainer puts no strain on the joints, but downward stepping would strain the lower back. I have only found one elliptical that adjusts so now I am wondering if this is really important or not. Before I invest money in one of these machines I need to be sure it will do no harm. Many thanks.
----------

The only Ellipticals which have an adjustable incline are made by Precor. This is not because the technology isn't valid but because Precor has a patent on it. In the next few years, once the patent has run out, you'll see a lot more Elliptical Manufacturers using the technology.

As for whether or not it would be good for your condition, you really should speak with your doctor.

I have "lordosis", any suggestions to make my ab workout less painful?

my lower back throbs all day long after I do the ab routine section of my fitness DVD (but my abs feel great). thnx.
----------

You need to modify your abd exercises. Basically, you will need to keep the lumbar region spine( lower back) flat against a surface. The pelvic-tilt position helps to keep this part of your back firm and flat. You do not need to do abdominal "crunches" to keep your abds in shape. Do you belong to a workout club ?? If so, ask a trainor as to how to modify your routine. In addition, because of the Lordosis, you will need to pay more attention as to how you lift things so that you don't irritate your lower back. Never bend from the waist. Instead, squat and use your leg muscles to get into a standing position when lifting or during certain activities. Any chance that your Doc will recommend a Physical Therapist to show you the correct body mechanics and/or exercises ?? I hope that this helped some.  (+ info)

is it possible to fix a lordosis curve?

is it possible to fixt the curve in the spine when you have lordosis or am i going to have to suffer the rest of my life has anyone ever fixed there lordosis
----------

How old are you? Usually lordosis affects old people. I know about scoliosis, because I have that. I had a friend who had, at the age of 13, a body cast for a year to help prevent curvature from getting worse. Nowadays, I think they use metal rods to help correct the curve....  (+ info)

i have been dianosed with scoliosis concave to the right of my spine with loss of normal lumber lordosis?

what does this mean i have had back pain for years
----------

Hey, scoliosis basically means your spine is curved.. instead of being straight down yur back, it goes in an S shape. Though because yours is concave to the right side, that probably means its more like a reversed S shape.

Lumber lordosis... well this is normal, everyone has a lordosis, sit against a chair, and place your hand in at your lower back... you know where your hand fits? well that gap is a lordosis. Because you have a loss of normal lordosis, you probably dont have a big gap here (which is caused by your pelvis tilted) or else you have too much of a tilt.

Hope you understand what that all meant? If not, i can explain further?

They're basically bony problems that you probably were born with, and have developed. These would both cause back pain, especially the scoliosis, because if you can imagine, your muscles and everything are out of sync. Hope this helps.  (+ info)

Im thirty two years old and I have Lordosis?

and my back is curving inward in the middle
Im not in pain but there,s presure there
Im wondering if there is a back brace made for People with Lordosis
----------

I'm pretty sure there are, its kind of hard to correct lordosis non surgically, but i don't see why they can't help support your back with a brace. Its unfortunate that you are getting such a sever case of this so early in life. by the sounds of it you have had a consult with a doctor, you should go back and inquire about a brace, your insurance should cover most, if not all, of the cost  (+ info)
