Why do patients with liver diseases commonly develop blood-clotting disorders

Because the process of blood clotting is a cascade of reactions between different clotting factors, which are mostly proteins made in the liver. Advanced liver disease means less ability to make these proteins, which means the blood takes a long time to clot.   (+ info)

Will going threw a MRI pick up diseases like hepatitis A B or C?Does the mri pick up liver problems?

An MRI will not detect Hepatitis of any kind. Hepatitis is confirmed or denied using a series of blood tests only. MRI's are not used to detect liver problems, nor are they capable of picking up any type of liver problems. MRE's however (Magnetic Resonance Elastography) can detect early signs of liver diseases and liver function problems.

MRI's are completely different. They are used to detect brain tumors, abnormalities within the brain, vascular anomalies of the head, aneurysms, eye and inner ear disorders, strokes, multiple sclerosis, some chronic diseases of the nervous system, and headache causes. They are not used to detect liver problems.  (+ info)

Does fatty liver , grade 1, if untreated cause sever liver diseases and liver cancer?

geyamala గేయమాల गेय माला - The answer is NO. Grade 1 fatty liver change is very mild. The most common cause is drinking alcohol (wine, whiskey, beer). If this is your situation, then if you continue with excess alcohol, it could progress to life-threatening cirrhosis with all its other complications. Very poor nutrition, especially with starvation will produce severe fatty changes. Rarely some chemicals can have a similar effect. Grade 1 fatty change is always reversible until scarring results leading to cirrhosis. Cirrhosis is considered to increase your chance of developing liver cancer. Limit any alcohol intake to no more than 3 ounces or 100mL daily, best taken with food.  (+ info)
