How to manipulate your period using oral contraceptives?

I use oral contraceptives and I was wondering instead of using the inactive pills during week four when my period is due, and I were to starting using a new pack of active pills during week four would that postpone my period from coming that week?
It would postpone your period, however the uterean lining would still build up on top of the previous months. When you eventually decide to have your period it will be more uncomfortable than usual and may even last longer. I wouldn't recommend it.  (+ info)

What are others experiences of taking oral bacolfen while pregnant?

I am 32 and have Cerebral Palsy. I take 10 MG oral baclofen twice daily. Now that I am in a happy relationship and I feel sure our minds will turn to a family eventually. There is next to nothing on the the net about the effects of baclofen on unborn children. Both I and my partner want to be well informed on the possible risks, as it is not an option for me to come off the drug. Does anyone have any experiences to share?
Pregnancy: Baclofen has been shown to increase the incidence of omphaloceles (ventral hernias) in fetuses of rats given approximately 13 times the maximum dose recommended for human use, at a dose which caused significant reductions in food intake and weight gain in dams. This abnormality was not seen in mice or rabbits. There was also an increased incidence of incomplete sternebral ossification in fetuses of rats given approximately 13 times the maximum recommended human dose, and an increased incidence of unossified phalangeal nuclei of forelimbs and hindlimbs in fetuses of rabbits given approximately 7 times the maximum recommended human dose. In mice, no teratogenic effects were observed, although reductions in mean fetal weight with consequent delays in skeletal ossification were present when dams were given 17 or 34 times the human daily dose. There are no studies in pregnant women. Baclofen should be used during pregnancy only if the benefit clearly justifies the potential risk to the fetus.

I felt like I may have had a cold sore coming on the side of my lip but was performing oral sex on my girlfriend. The cold sore wasn't inflamed or in the late stages and wasn't even noticable on my lips. I don't believe I made direct contact with the area while performing on her, I also didn't perform it long, less than 5 minutes. I'm just wondering what the chances of spreading the disease to her genitals would be?

Low, but not entirely zero. Alcohol doesn't do a great job of breaking down virus cells (unlike bacteria, which it kills quickly), but it's fairly toxic to the cells on the surface of your skin that would have been exposed to the virus. If it happened recently, you might still test negative if you've picked up the virus but it hasn't spread.

At this point, your best course of action is to keep your fingers crossed and find out if the other person really does have herpes or not (it could just be a cold sore, or a rumour). Once you know for sure, talk to a doctor or medical clinician about testing and treatment options.

Oral herpes is treatable, but not curable, so you'll be able to live a relatively normal life. Just inform anyone you hook up with between now and when you find out about your situation, it's the responsible thing to do.  (+ info)

Can Oral Thrush make your lips burn or give you chapped lips?

I think i may have oral thrush, I've have a burning sensation on my tongue for like 3 months which has led to my lips burning and have become chapped (Chronic) So my question is can Thrush go away on it's own? Or any no cost home remedies i can try? Thanks.
Me too. My lips and tongue are burning red from it. Salt water mouth rinses provide temporary relief - they kill the yeast. I'm eating prebiotics (cans of mixed beans in particular) and probiotic yogurt. These things increase good bacteria in the gut and these good bacteria fight the yeast. I'm also avoiding cakes and other sweet things because sugar feeds the thrush. After three days of this I'm making progress. It takes time.  (+ info)

How long after an oral herpes outbreak is it okay to kiss / have oral sex with a partner?
It is safer about 5 days after the outbreak has completely healed.

However, it is true that you can still spread it even when you don't have a cold sore and haven't had one for ages. Everyone with oral herpes is sometimes infectious in between outrbeaks - it is called asymptomatic shedding of the virus and happens 5-10% of the time with oral herpes.

I should know - my partner had oral herpes and we scrupulously avoided him giving me oral sex during and for a few days after outbreaks. I caught genital herpes from him giving me oral sex, and he hadn't had a codl sore in 6 months and nor was he getting one either - he was completely symptom-free. 70% of herpes infections are spread when the person has no symptoms.  (+ info)

When I receive oral sex from my girlfriend, it feels good, but i dont know what to do. Should I do something with my hands? It feels like I should but I dont know what to do.
As a woman I appreciate some noise from my man. Silence is discerning and if you don't want to let loose a moan then give some kind of compliment "You're doing great" or whatnot. No matter whatever lame line you come up with it's just nice to get some encouragement.

With your hands, if you are fidgety then gently rub them through her hair or if you are feeling generous rub her shoulders or something.

Some women like command and when you hump into their mouth or push their head down farther but you'll have to work out what her preference is, maybe an awkward talk lol  (+ info)
