I suffer from chronic leukocytosis since 2 yrs. old. I'm 49 now. What health problems this could cause?

In itself, leukocytosis doesn't cause anything, but it's present in a lot of other conditions when a person is sick, including viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infection, cancer, hemorrhage, and exposure to certain medications or chemicals including steroids.

what is leukopenia..leukamia....leukocytosis?

quickly
and leukocytosis
----------

Leukopenia (not cancer) is a decrease in the number of circulating white blood cells (leukocytes) in the blood. As the principal function of white cells is to combat infection, a decrease in the number of these cells can place patients at increased risk for infection.
Leukemia is a cancer of the blood or bone marrow characterized by an abnormal proliferation of blood cells, usually white blood cells (leukocytes)

leukocytosis homeopathy treatment?

"Skep Doc" is correct in that Leukocytosis is a raised white blood cell count above the normal range, but he left out some very important aspects of this issue. It is a pathological reaction that occurs in response to a wide variety of conditions, including viral, bacterial, fungal, or parasitic infection, cancer, hemorrhage, and exposure to certain medications or chemicals, including steroids, but what is very interesting is that Leukocytosis can and does alter the blood formula when you over cook foodstuffs and this is characterized by what is called "digestive leukocytosis."

So, if you get a blood test and this problem is indicated, you also have to consider what you ate prior to getting the test before getting worried about a pathological problem. The problem with relying on any blood test is that it is a snapshot in time and your really have to consider many other factors before strictly relying on it completely.

I think it is incorrect to say homeopathy definitely has no effect on this issue. You really have to define homeopathy before making that statement.

My girlfriend has a high WBC(white blood cells) count. Term called leukocytosis. Is it dangerous? Any therapy?

I had that too. It just means there is an infection being fought in her body somewhere, and she may or may not ever develop any sypmtoms of the infection. No therapy needed as it is the body's natural response.  (+ info)

I have both leukocytosis and lymphocytosis I have been seeing a hematologist for about 3 yrs and he really hasn't found much I wonder if I should get a second opinion, or if I should even be concerned. White Count is always between 11,000 and 14,000. Thanks.

How to handle Leukocytes?

How to handle Leukocytes?
Leukocytosis is related about white cell in human body.. My question is... If someone are having tis problem..... what type of food should they avoid. What type of vegetable should they take to prevent the symptom from spread or become worst.
ist... dangerous tu human health
----------

Leukocytes are white blood cells. Leuko = white, cytes = cells. Leukocytes or white blood cells (WBCs) are the component of the blood whose function is immunity. They are activated during infection and during times of stress. Leukocytosis (the increase in leukocytes) can mean many things but the most simple is an infection. Leukocytosis is not a problem but rather a sign of a problem. When the body fights off the infection, the number of leukocytes return to normal.

You do not need any special diet or vegetable to normalize your leukocyte count. Don't worry.  (+ info)

Does this make sense for blood panels and lipid titers?

"The lipid titers were unremarkable, other than she is anemic with a hemoglobin of 9.1 and mild leukocytosis at 13,000."
That is what I THINK the doc I'm listening to is saying but I'm not sure hemoglobin is part of lipid titer??? I can't understand her accent and I'm listening to her through my computer and have to get this report sent back to the hospital. Thanks to anyone who knows about any of this!!!!
----------

In order to get your lipids, they would have tested not only your liver functions but done a CBC as well which explains why your HGB was done. You are definitely anaemic and should take iron. Discuss what type with your doctor. Elevated leukocytes could indicate infection.  (+ info)
