My husband has had intestinal cramps for about a week. What is this?

My husband has had what I believe from his description to be intestinal cramping for about a week now. He claims to be able to make bowel movements with no abnormality, but just slight discomfort. He has no diarreah, constipation, or any other problems. He just complains about this cramp that seems to come and go, and it is beginning to interfere with his work. If anyone has any idea what this is or what we should do I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.
It kinda sounds like IBS (Iritable Bowel Syndrome,) but we can't examine him! There are a lot of things it can be. If it's beginning to interfere with his work, it's definitely time to see a doctor.

I know that these aren't contractions or a sign of miscarriage b/c I have had a previous pregnancy but I am having a really hard time with constipation and then intestinal cramping and just not being able to regulate myself. I know too much info. But I need some help with this b/c prune juice never worked with my 1st pregnancy and this is terrible b/c I can't go any where far incase the constipation gives. HELP!
WATER FRUIT AND VEGGIES...AND YES COLACE. I just went through all of that and all of the above helped. Just ask your doctor about the colace. I'm sure they will say yes but just to be safe.
